i feel it is a waste of my time to cut before i have a project in mind. The only pre-cut I will do is strips for binding on my chairity quilts - ony if I know there will be a use for them. I also use a lot of 2.5" strips in my binding class and in most cases the color is unimportant due to the project so I keep a box of 2.5" strips to have ready.

I don't cut my fabric till I know what fabric I am going to use. I always buy a half yard extra so I know that I have enough fabric. I use the scraps to make smaller projects.

Ditto...this is what I do...have made some cool scrap quilts from her free patterns.

I cut my scraps; odd triangles and pieces like that, into the largest workable strip or square I can make of them. Other than that, I don't precut. I have pencil holder boxes with 1" squares, 1.5, 2, etc and strips from 1.5 wide to whatever length was possible.

I don't cut anything before I am going to use it. Would't it become more frayed if I did?

I never cut ahead. I might change my mind about what pattern and fabric combinations I want. I trim scraps to manageable shapes but that is it. One day I promise I will do a scrappy quilt.

I never cut mine until I am ready to use for something. Although, I cut my scraps after my project into as large a square as possible, but only if I have less than 1/2 yard left over.

I cut a small square to put in my notebook that goes with me to the fabric store. It is only an inch or so.

I don't cut mine until I am ready to use.

Excuse me for asking and I don't mean to be rude but what do you do with them then? If you don't need them maybe we can do a deal on postage as I use so many scraps etc; on my Project Linus and Charity quilts, just an idea?

I am prob asking a stupid question but what is a Project Linus and do you have a certain pattern you use for Charity quilts? :-D
