I have the Go manual and Go big. I use both. The mats are consumable so you will use a lot of those but mine have lasted through many cuts. I've only had to replace one die, the 8" rag die, because I wore it out making hundreds of rag squares for a guild community project. I went through several mat then too. For regular use I haven't had to replace any of the dies. DH replaced the bearings in my Go crank and it's about 12 years old. I bought one of the first ones available. You'll find pros and cons with any fabric die cut machine. Just pick one and not fret about what you should have bought. That will take the fun out of what you do have.

The Go! cutter has been a blessing to use since I now have shoulder issues. The strip dies are great for cutting strips and then submitting them into squares, triangles, etc. I started out with the manual cutter when it first came out.
Recently I found another great use. I was working on a star block with four pieced squares and five whole squares. Well, each pieced square had two seams where the first seam had to be trimmed first before doing the second seam. I used the 6.5 strip die to trim away the first seam and again for the second seam. Then, because the block was 5.5 inches UF, I used the 5.5 strip to square off the blocks. Lot of time was saved, and there was less pain for my shoulders, yay. |
Pam, I have the Go that is manual but for you I would suggest the electric one.
Sewbizgirl made a good point though. They are so expensive! Those dies are really pricey. |

I just purchased the Go Baby from Amazon. It is $70 & free shipping. My reason for getting this is that I'm not sure how much I would use it. I like the idea of the electric machines but didn't want to spend that much & then not use it. I can always upgrade.
