Cutting Triangles

Back with another triangle question!

I would like to make this cushion - https://pin.it/3he4qiz5o62bve

A few years ago I made a cushion by joining 8 (I think) halve lengths of Jelly roll strips together along their long edge, then cut them vertically. This made strips of coloured squares.

Is there a similar method I could use to make this cushion?

I’m thinking that if I join alternate strips of patterned and plain fabric then cut diagonally at 60 degrees from left to right, then diagonally again from right to left I will get half patterned half plain diamonds.
These could then be used to make the cushion.

Am I right or is this a recipe for disaster!

this is a different one but triangles are the same. it may help. https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...k-t273040.html

If you sew 2 strips along both sides, and cut your triangle from one side then from the other side, then yes, you would end up with diamonds. There would be no easier way.

nativetexan - I saw that link back then and actually made that piece and had no issues. (Never finished it off though)
