I like the appliqué border because the main body of the quilt reminds me of a garden lattice, where flowers would climb up, so I personally think the appliqué goes very well. Maybe it's also because I so admire people who do appliqué, I personally avoid it whenever possible, but it looks so beautiful!
All of it looks well done! |

You applique border definitely gives a wonderful finishing touch to your quilt.

I would absolutely go with the appliqué! It is gorgeous. Im not 100% sure I would do as many blocks in the corners but the appliqué is awesome!
Beautiful quilt! I love the applique.
I love it with the applique and pieced border. Beautifully done.
Oh the applique and leftover bits go great with the top. SO MUCH MORE interesting than the plain border.
I love your border. Beautiful and interesting.
I love the applique..takes it from a pretty quilt to an extraordinary quilt.
I like them both, I think the appliqué is a nice touch. I prefer the plain blue border, but think it needs to be bigger.
Love the addition of the appliqué and pinwheel blocks....makes it unique.

I love love love the appliqué border. I don't like the pinwheels in the corner though. Maybe if it were just the one set of four pinwheels in the corner instead of three sets of four?
Sorry, I feel harsh saying I don't like something, but then I remind myself that you are free to ignore me if you like them! |
I like the appliqué border but not the pin wheels. The appliqué border is lovely with the quilt.
I definitely love the applique.
The blue border is perfect, but, if you need to have it bigger, then the applique is very pretty. I would probably add another blue border to finish the applique edge. But, I'm mixed about the pinwheel corners. For me, it takes away from the applique. Perhaps just a four patch of the main colors used in the quilt or a repeat of the pattern in the quilt. but just one block not three. Or even just one pinwheel 4 patch.

I like the applique very much with the quilt. It provides a lot of interest with the geometric angular pattern in the middle and then flowing applique on the border. Two suggestions: I would consider making the applique flowersand leaves bigger. I would consider using an applique flower for the corner also.
This is a beautiful quilt. Any of the choices you've shown will work. |
i love the appliqued border and pinwheels with this. Beautiful quilt! What is the name of this pattern?
I would use the applique as 2nd border and blue as outside border. It looks great without applique or with.
what a stunning quilt with those appliqued borders. wonderful!
please show us when you are done. |
I like the flowered border. Very pretty quilt.
oh, but the border will be all around, as you can see, I do not have enough room to spread the whole quilt with borders. More blue fabric has been ordered...... and I will definitely ask for more advise as I go along. Thank you very much for all your comments. I appreciate all of them.

This would be my thought, too. A small white border on the other two sides. It looks a little unfinished this way.
I love the quilt and I love the way the additions are only on two sides. Very interesting. I think the applique and corner pinwheels look wonderful. Very interesting! |
What a pretty quilt! You're getting a boatload of advice and opinions here! LOL How about one more? :)
I love the applique swag centered just like you have it. What about putting a flower in each corner? Not keen on the pinwheels in the corners because they pull my eyes away from the main quilt. (And I love pinwheels.) I'd use some pinwheels on the back . |
