Dec La Table runner done! How do you get fabric glue off?
 

Dec La Table runner (kit from Connecting Threads) is done. I am happy with it, except for the glue that oozed out from under the ribbons and is very visible. I know... I am way too generous with glue! Any suggestions? I have tried freezing and then trying to pick off, without success.

I don't know, would a paper bag and an iron work? It's real pretty as is, might want to just leave it...

Did you try using warm water. I would try just using the warm water on a clean cloth and gently rub.

You could try dipping a q-tip in some Goo Be Gone and see if that helps. Love your table top!

Lovely runner! It looks so at home in your dining room.

I downloaded this about three weeks ago and haven't had the time to make it as yet. I will be extra careful with any glue that is supposed to be used. Thanks for the heads up.

What kind of glue did you use? If it was Elmer's white washable school glue, I second dipping a cloth in water and rubbing gently. Do allow the water a little time to penetrate the glue. Experiment on a sample first if you are unsure. (A toothpick might help too.)

When all else fails... look up the manufacturer's instructions.... Duh

Step 1: Remove of much of the dried Fabri-Tac as you can by using your fingernail, a spoon or butter knife.
Step 2: Wet a small portion of the rag with acetone. Slowly rub the wet rag directly onto the adhesive to be removed. Wet & turn the rag often to keep it from drying out.
Step 3: The wet rag will soften & liquefy the glue. This will be a slow process. Gently peel off any blobs of glue you see and discard.[/TD]

The table runner is beautiful.

Good for you for looking up the manufacturer's instructions! It amazes me how often I fail to think of that. Think I'll put it on a card and pin it to my cork board. LOL!

Then you have to remember to LOOK at your cork board!
