To avoid the awful feeling of what should I do, I lay out the next days work-sewing- before closing the door. It helps me to get moving.

I made a New Years resolution to finish all my UFO's this year. To not by anything new till I have accomplished that task. I have finished a few UFO's & then a shop hop came upon me & I did buy alittle bit. Although, I don't count having to buy new fabric to finish those UFO's. I still have a pile of UFO's about a foot tall to finish. I guess that I just may go into withdrawls. If the fabric comes from someone else, does that make it new? LOL.

You'll make it!! We'll all encourage you along the way. A few years ago I did that after finding so many in my closet. There are still a couple only because I have them at a point where I don't know what I want to do. Absolutely not new if it comes from someone else!

Well I am in a bit of a slump myself so am keen to read the answers to this question also.
It isn't that I don't have anything to do cause there is plenty - need to finish up the IRR border (almost done), need to make some blocks for the next swap (wont take long), have a house warming quilt gift to complete (why did I choose a black background when I hate working with black?), 2 table runners to complete and 2 charity quilts to complete but I seem to have lost the excitement. Not even the thought of starting something new is exciting me at the moment. Maybe1day  |
I usually alternate between intense quilts that take time and real concentration/thinking to get it "right" and quicker ones that seem to almost make themselves, usually strip pieced easy ones. I hate the quilting part so I just make tops.

[Beginning to realize, since the advent of QB in my life, I'm not a quilter, I'm a procrastinator. :?

Haha they are decided for me. Somebody (usually DD) just NEEDS to have it. Love her lots.

I never have a problem deciding what to start next - the problem I have is finishing the many projects that have been started. It is too much fun to start something, see how the blocks will look, etc. then find something else that catches my interest. Someday - the UFOs will be a priority! HaHa!
