Little hint from electrician friend...unplug all electrical cords when not in use. Turning off does not stop the flow of electricity. The only things plugged in at all times in my home are fridge, freezer and clocks. My monthly bill went down over 40%. I have a neighbor who claims she is saving 55% on her bill. Give it a try for a few months and see for youself. You must be faithful in doing this or it will not work. Everything unplugged when not in use. Spend the money you save on fabric and "tools" of our addiction!

Love your idea. I'll give it a try.

I cannot sew with my newer machines without turning the on button. Hand cranking, but not real sewing. My vintage or just older machines probably do need to be unplugged.
Hadn't thought that through before. thanks. |
So happy that this helpful hint worked for you. By the way, the same "fix" will sometimes work on a computer too.
