I guess the one tiny spark of light is that her quilts must have been incredibly awesome for the agent to be so convinced she would sell them.

I hope she sends him a bill for his purchase of "sample" goods.

As a waitress we used to get ink on our uniforms and hairspray took it out very well. It's worth a try.

By reading the blog, it sounds like one of the posters has a brother in a position with customs to assist with this stupidity. I hope someone (the stupid custom agent) has to sit down and write an apology (just to start with) and secondly, someone realizes that works of art were defaced!

Personally instead of ranting on this board I think we should all contact the border patrol and demand restitution for her. Bombard them with so many complaints that something has to be done. Copy her blog to Larry King, or Bill O'Reilly or some of the large news shows that have some clout. The border patrol agency should be made to pay for the quilts.

I think I might cry over this one.....
|
Oooooooooooooh the wrath of a quilter. Go get 'em .....I would have had to 'Jap-slap" him myself. LOL
|
Where's the quilt police when you need them? Remember the one that was upset because the quilt was being used as a blanket on the ground! This would have really pushed her over the edge. I am so sorry you had to do this to your quilts.

Good idea Rapturerady!

I would document this whole thing and how your friend was treated exactly the opposite. I would get a lawyer and make the Canadian government pay for the damage you were forced to do to them. THEN i would never go back to Canada again! Why spend time and money in a country that is so hostile to quilters!
I live near Canada (in Maine). I am glad to know about this. I am DONE with Canada! |
