I have not made a design wall yet, but this thread is giving me some great ideas.
Tell me if you think this would work...... I have a 6'x6' cubby type shelving system on one wall. Got it at IKEA. I store my fabric in the cubbies, among other things. I have several cute panels I am planning to make to hang over the fabric or messier looking stuff in the shelves to protect the fabric from sunlight. My room is not very large, no wall space, but do I plan to get another of the cubby bookcase type things soon, just need more storage. Anyway, what if I backed a large panel that I plan to make anyway, with white flannel? Will blocks still stick if I quilt it? Or would something else work better? I do not want to drill or put holes in the shelving so I am thinking of making some dowels the depth of the shelves with a cup hook in one end. I already did that to make a place to hang a few bags on. I just stick it in the corner and whatever is on the shelf holds it there. So I am thinking that when I need the design wall, I can just turn that particular panel around. What do you think? |
Sounds like it would work to me. Try it and see. jolo
