I have a flannel backed tablecloth attached with double sided tape to a sliding wardrobe door. It works for me :)

2 yards of cream colored fleece attached to the wall with Velcro so it can be removed.

I have the Fons and Porter design and I thing it was about 17 dollars. It HAS GROMENTS at the top so I weht and got the 3m velcro stick up with hooks on them and they hold it up on the wall in my sewing room just fine.

There are several ideas on the QB if you want to do a search.

Questions are:
- do you want it permanent or portable?
- what size do you want?
- how pretty do you want it to be?

I've used a flannel backed tablecloth in the past but found I had to pin the blocks on it and preferred it for taking projects to a sew-in instead of at home.

I had a friend help me and we made a 8 ft x 8 ft design wall out of 2 4ft x 8 ft pieces of foam insulation duct taped hinged together so I could fold it and store it behind a very tall bookcase. We covered it in batting and then later I gridded it with ribbon. I love it.

Another quilting friend has her design wall mounted onto her wall permanently.

I would expect the space available would determine what decided to do.

I use a king size flannel sheet. I can use it on a table, the bed, or hang it from the curtains.
