Love it

DOTTYMO 04-13-2016 07:34 AM

Fantastic piece of prose.

Geri B 04-13-2016 07:39 AM

Sounds like a column that used to be a regular in a quilt magazine awhile back. Can't remember which mag it was, but they were cute!

cashs_mom 04-13-2016 07:49 AM

:D My husband would probably agree with that! Only he'd add owning dachshunds to the list of hazardous occupations

gram2five 04-13-2016 08:05 AM

Thanks for sharing this! My DH will be nodding his head up and down in agreement when I have him read this when he gets home from work today :)

Prism99 04-13-2016 08:27 AM

Made my day! :D

I have 2 mixes and my yard has many holes. Got the second to distract the first from digging, however it did not work as she supervises the digging to make sure he is doing it right. I work at a shelter and picked these 2 out and the irony is I don't even like the breed but somehow ended up with 2 LOL. I think they slipped something in my lunch at work to get me to adopt them.

Reminds me of Popser. He writes about his life with a quilting wife. http://popser.com/

Yes my husband would say the same about our 4 legged rescue!
If you love dachshunds, have you seen the patter The Ziggy pattern? I just goggled it and it came up. I think I will order it for a friend who has two cutties.

Mazda 04-13-2016 07:17 PM

That was really clever!

Quilty-Louise 04-13-2016 07:21 PM

Toooo funny

cathyvv 04-13-2016 08:16 PM

Cute. And let me remind you that the most oft-used quilting tool is the seam ripper. Those things can poke you eye out! Is there a federal agency that would handle that? Maybe OSHA?

My DH always worried about what I would do in retirement, and urged me to find a hobby that made me happy. So I picked quilting. He WAS so happy for me - perhaps relieved that he wouldn't have to entertain me for the next 20 - 30 years - now he wishes he never urged me to take up a hobby...

sherneff44 04-14-2016 03:37 AM

That is so, so cute. Thanks for sharing!

grammasharon 04-14-2016 04:06 AM

Enjoyed and going to take it to share with the gals at our quilt retreat come April 19th. Thanks for sharing.

redstilettos 04-14-2016 04:27 AM

See....husbands with a sense of humor can handle us quilting addicted wives :)

fivepaws 04-14-2016 04:29 AM

Very clever. I loved it.

It's funny because it's true!

Gail B 04-14-2016 05:18 AM

Love it. I'm sure most husbands would agree to meet at Flannigans.

lovingLakeMich 04-14-2016 05:55 AM

Thank you! It's hysterical.

JanieH 04-14-2016 06:04 AM

Thank you for posting this. I laughed all the way through it.
If my husband were still alive he would be laughing also, especially the part about quilting being hazardous to your health. Halloween morning of 2014 I fell in my house as my BFF and I were getting ready to go, you guessed it, to the Houston Quilt Festival. One surgery, 2 metal plates, 14 screws, and months of therapy later, my broken arm is as good as it is going to get. And the worst part, she and I missed the last 2 days of Quilt Festival we had planned to go to.

Sewfine 04-14-2016 06:41 AM

LOL, sew cute. Love it.

Yooper32 04-14-2016 07:01 AM

Downright Hilarious!

Bren 04-14-2016 07:58 AM

That's so funny. I am grinning from ear to ear and can't wait to read it to DH. We too stop at every quilt shop when we travel. Only problem is, now I am running out of room. I tentatively broached the subject of converting half the garage to a quilting studio and received a dead-pan stare. I guess giving up half the garage was a step too far! He does indulge me most of the time.

Thanks for sharing!

Really had a good laugh. Hope you don't mind, but I did send it to a few quilters. Thank you.

My DH sadly, would concur & would probably meet up with the other hubbies at some "joint" of their choice to lament their poor existences !! Ha Ha, this was hilarious.........thoroughly enjoyed the laugh but I dare not show it to my hubby so that he doesn't get any strange ideas. LOL

Gracie 04-14-2016 12:24 PM

Poor Chip. It was a cute read.

Littledreamdevil 04-14-2016 12:37 PM

oh now that is so funny. What will a non quilter think of to say next? We quilters do tend to take over the house
and every space we can find. Ha ha

maryellen2u 04-14-2016 12:45 PM

Very entertaining!

MsHeirloom 04-14-2016 03:19 PM

Loved it! Your husband has a great sense of humor!

quiltykiwi 04-14-2016 04:29 PM

Wonderful stuff l . I am addicted to quilting and my husband is a tractor fanatic! seems to work well! He and my son are going to USA for the RED Power meet in Wisconsin in June, I get to stay home and quilt- happily so, I must say.
