Tough week so I decided to do some playing with my fabric. I always wanted to try a 4 patch posy so I started playing. Took some fabric that I loved the color, cut 5 1/2 inch squares stacked 4 together. then I cut into 4 pieces diagonally. Took 4 identical stacks and sewed together to make a block. I thought it looked pretty good. Now I come to the computer and look up 4 PP and discover everyone else cuts into 4 squares not triangles! Oops...have i made a new block or what?

There was another poster that showed us a 4PP cut on the diagonal. No reason why it has to be square cuts! |
I thought they were supposed to be diagonal (triangle) cuts -
I never looked closely at any of them |
Show us please. They sound nifty.

Want to see your new creation! No mistakes just new designs!

You used artistic license and were creative. Go for it.

would love to see the picture

ASN has a book (maybe by Linda Cause) that has the diagonal cut. I was surprised when I saw the pictures here done on the straight. Both look great. I think the straight cuts would be easier as you would have no bias edges to sew.
