How many of you got a PM from jenniferloop about starting a new forum? Spam?


I am just launching a quilting forum. For that reason i need some one who can register there. And post there quilting work and tutorial. As the site will be new there will be no much users, But if u write some of ur work people will surely come. Plz support me if u can help by joining my forum ,and newbie can profit from ur tu8torial and work.

This will surely give u a high reputation when we reach 30k users in 6 month. As u will be the oldest member there .
Plz let me know what u think about it

I did not, but that really doesn't mean too much.

when you receive spam you need to bring it to the attention of the administrators (patrice)---

She just registered here oct 20th.....had plan to just draw members apparently.....

There was a previous post that there were some unhappy people on this board and another board was being created, maybe she is the creator. Doesn't much matter to me as I like it here and have no plans to join another board.

Sure doesn't seem on the up and up with the very poor spelling and grammar. Reminds me of the letters I(Spam) telling me some wonderful benefactor in Nigeria left me millions and all I had to do was send a couple of thousand to release it!

Maybe trying to create a marketing base, using text abbre.

I'm not sure that that's allowed here but make sure Patrice knows about it. Shoddy actions to say the least.

Sounds fishy! I would not go there.

Could be a plan to create a site, hoping to just get a lot of visitors, in order to make money off of advertising revenue. You know, like the ads that appear on this forum.

'Course, we know that here there is lots of good content! People won't keep coming back if there isn't really any good content.

Could also be way to add your email to spam. Or a virus. How would one know so I keep away.

I avoid anything with bad spelling like that, as it is usually not legitimate - someone said it right - it is like those "a stranger has entrusted you with a million dollars" thing. Probably a virus, spam or phishing.

And, don't know about anyone else, but this group has so much info, inspiration, etc - I have a hard time keeping up with it, let alone another group!

I have shut down that account for your protection.

Bad grammar and bad spelling are not acceptable when begging with words.

Wow! I missed out. Her wording was so bad I had to read it twice before I was sure what she was asking. What I got was she wanted to profit from others work. So nice that she asked!!!

I really don't like lazy people who can't spell out words like YOU and I can't tolerate people who can't spell simple words like 'their'.

Sorry, she's a no-go for me.

sometimes folks use that 'poor spelling' to avoid spam protectors that look for certain key words.

No, I haven't, but I read somewhere on here once that if you get spam in your PM, to let the Mods know and they'll take care of it.

I like it here and no intentions of joining another board. I get all I need from this board on a daily basis, plus reading past posts. All of these posts have helped me tremendously!

I think that this board is the best!! Have looked at other sites, but came back here and not looking anymore! The moderators do a great job and I really see little negativity. This is a safe place where we can vent a little, encourage each other and show off a bit! I am a bit appalled that someone would join just to recruit, but I guess thats the way some people are.

This board is the best ever and I have checked out others just for variety and was not impressed with any of them. I am so hooked on this board as it is the best one out there and have lots of wonderful helpful quilters and it is so full of great information and willing to help others learn. Every morning I grab my coffee and check out the board for the new posts.

I did not get it, but I would not even think about going anywhere else -- it is so nice here !

Email harvesting would be my concern.

This board is all I need! I'll never be able to make all the quilts that I've fallen in love with on here :)

Can't imagine another board that would be as good as this one. It is so well run and watched over and so full of fascinating folks and quilting everything. I spend enough time on here, just wouldn't have any left for any other board.
