I bought myself a Scallops, Vines and Waves ruler from Missouri Star Quilt company on their recent daily special. No one in my family has any idea about or interest in quilts stuff. My quilty friend gave me a neat pattern book, though, and I got her a speciality ruler.

My daughter is a seamstress, she makes costumes for Anime conventions. So her stocking stuffers were several packs of machine needles in various sizes/types and a dozen bobbins for her machine. We run a home for geriatric Berninas, there are two 930s and 1031. Here's a picture of my 930.
My gift to me was a pack of FQs and more bobbins for my White Rotary treadle machine. Also the time to sew on Christmas day while the roast was in the oven, DH was at work all day fixing telephone related issues.

My DH asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and at the time I wasn't ready to even think about it. My quilting friend and I went to a jewelry store a couple of weeks ago, and I saw this ring. She was the one looking for ear rings for her daughter, but she went to my DH. She told him that I really liked this diamond ring. Which I really don't want another ring, he comes to me on Christmas Eve, and tells me its time to go and get the ring. Needless to say I turned him down!!!!!!!!! I told him I was waiting for the fabric sales at the LQS. I got an envelope with enough money to keep me busy for a longgggggggggg time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's the best DH!! I've had him for almost 57 yrs., and I want to keep him another 57...

athenascooter 12-26-2013 06:13 PM

My brother and I decided not to exchange gifts this year (we are seniors) instead told each other to spend the money on ourselves from each other. So this year I got enough fabric to make a quilt for the grandson. What a nice gift from my brother

nancia 12-26-2013 06:25 PM

Oh, I've been very gifted! Dh bought me a Viking serger. I bought fabric and thread from connecting threads sale, and I will have a full day with Ricky Tim's in January! I feel like it's a first date, giggle, giggle!

mooshie 12-26-2013 06:46 PM

I got an Accuquilt Go! A few dies to go with it, 2 templates and some papers for paper piecing. :-) and my dad gave me cash since he hates to set foot in a craft store. I'm thinking about using it for a whole bolt of white since I use it so much for backgrounds.

QuiltnLady1 12-26-2013 07:29 PM

I did not buy myself anything, but put several quilting related notions on my Christmas list and got some things I can hardly wait to try out. I got one of those long rulers with the rotary cutter attached so I can cut wof with just one fold. Can hardly wait to try it.

phranny 12-26-2013 07:29 PM

I got an Accuquilt Go! as well, and have spent some time tonight cranking through little scraps. I love it, and each piece is perfect, with the little dog ear cut off. Sure bests my wonky rotary cutting!

I gave my husband the Hancock's ad with the Brother machine I wanted and circled it in black and told him not to let the salespeople talk him into another model! He did well, I wanted a real light weight machine to take to quilt club meetings and quilt classes so I got the Brother that weighs 14 pounds. All I need it to do is so seams. It is model CS-770.

cricket_iscute 12-26-2013 11:26 PM

I took advantage of the Joann's sale and bought several dies for my recently-acquired Accuquilt GO.

DDuMouchel 12-27-2013 04:07 AM

I bought myself a kit from Keepsake Quilting to make a queen-size bargello (Mystic Nights) and told DH he could pay for half of it and that would be my Christmas present. I even managed to get it on sale, 20% off! Then on Christmas Day he surprised me with a $50 amazon gift card for quilt books so I have two new Judy Martin books on the way! This plus the new grandson I was presented with 12/23 has made it my best Christmas in years!

paoberle 12-27-2013 04:46 AM

I found a great deal so I gave my self two ott lites.

Love how you worded this! I asked myself for a lightweight machine for classes, but myself decided to wait and see if there were any after Christmas sales! On the hunt now!

Quiltaddiction 12-27-2013 06:01 AM

I was very lucky this year and got the EQ7 software that I asked for. I also got 4 quilting books on sale at the Boxing Day sale at Lincraft average price $25 to $30 dollars I got them for $5 each. Life is good

I gift myself with quilty things all the time. I just didn't take the time to wrap them up and put them under the tree this year. I didn't even buy myself a gift certificate to my favorite LQS this year. In the past, it was a special treat to buy at the LQS instead of JAF, but now I'm becoming more choosy about my fabrics, so I tend to go to LQS more often. Instead I bought myself slippers, 3 scarves and DG Light Blue perfume. I should have bought myself more, as DD had a new Garmin and laptop under the tree. I guess I'll do some new year's shopping!

orangeroom 12-27-2013 06:43 AM

No one asked me what I wanted. I did get a pretty mosaic bowl with fake fruit in it from DD's boyfriend! The orange in the top of it matches the orange in my old sewing studio perfectly. Looks great on the table.

If I want quilty stuff, I buy it. Recently I did purchase a 40 yd bolt of wide batting. I'm good for while!

Grannyh67 12-27-2013 07:01 AM

I gifted myself two OttLites. one floor model and one table type, love them both. Merry Christmas to me, lol

Sewnoma 12-27-2013 07:17 AM

Not unless you count the quilt I recently finished for myself! Not specifically for Christmas, though. (Though I did bring it with me in the car as we drove around for the holiday to keep myself nice and snuggly warm!)

BUT, my father-in-law and my sister both gave me Amazon.com gift certificates so I've been building up a cart full of quilting books and special rulers and other similar quilting-related goodies. :) I'm well set for the basics but it's nice to get some frills!

collady 12-27-2013 07:46 AM

My daughter got me another Ott lite! Santa brought me a Brother PQ1500S. (I ordered it while he watched over my shoulder. Tee hee hee!) It was a great Christmas. I even gave my oldest daughter a quilt I finished with fabric she selected in 1984...Yes 1984.

love 2 sew 12-27-2013 07:49 AM

I had already bought a couple things but wrapped them up cuz money got tight & I love them. A package of Annie's Soft & Stable, a sew finger thingy, & an iron Caddy pattern for retreats.

sewNso 12-27-2013 08:07 AM

since I was 'santa' for so many years, of course I buy for my self. that way I get some of 'exactly' what I want. xoxo

pattipat 12-27-2013 08:42 AM

Santa came early and brought me a new embroidery sewing machine. I have had my first 2 lessons already.

margecam52 12-27-2013 09:10 AM

My hubby just let's me pick what I want/need.

MargeD 12-27-2013 10:48 AM

I was given one of my favorite gifts - money - to spend as I wish. The kids think it's easier so I can pick out exactly what I want. Especially with fabric or notions I'd rather pick them out myself, especially since neither my DD or DDIL quilt or even sew.

peggy119 12-27-2013 10:59 AM

My dear husband gave me a blank check for the Bernina machine of my choice. I don't want the big embroidery model since I already have one and hardly use it. I have just wanted a Bernina for so long and after this weekend, I will have it!!

deedum 12-27-2013 11:15 AM

wow, some wonderful gifts it sounds like. Me, I ordered some stabilizer for my embroidery machine. My gift to myself so that I can make things for others as gifts. My DF did give me a nice GC at a LQS and a extra small sewing cabinet which I will enjoy. Now to give myself the ultimate gift.....the gift of time to play in my room! That one is hard to come by at times.

mgmsrk 12-27-2013 12:51 PM

I got a used, red face Janome 7700! Also the 1/4" and Stitch in the Ditch foot for the Acufeed. I love it, I'm quilting a oversized queen quilt on it now, those extra inches are great.

I did find the ditch foot off, I had to move my needle over several clicks to get it to line up and I'm wondering if I got a wonky foot.

Fingers crossed I can get my 6600 sold soon.

lots2do 12-27-2013 01:29 PM

I should really give myself the gift of time to quilt and craft. That's all I really need right now and it seems so scarce!

mjhaess 12-27-2013 05:57 PM

My daughter also complains that I have too much fabric but she went to Amish Country to the Amish store and bought me a total of 62 yards of fabric....She better never complain about me having too much fabric...LOL..

captlynhall 12-27-2013 07:28 PM

Since I used up several Christmas and birthday gifts a while back buying Pandora bracelets and charms, I have to have selective amnesia each time I buy myself another Christmas or birthday gift. But, I'm pretty good at that. So at this year's International Quilt Festival in Houston, I purchased a great little floor stand quilt frame. I have been coveting it since I saw it last year and my cousin bought one. It was either another sterling silver thimble, which I already had one, or this. So this won out. My wonderful husband pretends he doesn't know what I spend on me. That is a gift in itself.

Kristi.G 12-27-2013 08:07 PM

I gifted myself a Pfaff Passport 2.0 while they are on sale. My main machine is a Brother Dreamweaver, which I love, but I wanted a high quality portable/backup machine. Reviews of the Passport have been so good, plus that IDT system hooked me:)

Pattia 12-27-2013 08:49 PM

I just got my new Husquvarna this Oct, but they had to order the extension table and they offered me my choice of quarter inch feet. I had not been able to pick it up so DH went and also added the Walking foot to my stocking for me.
=)) sooo Happy! I can't wait to get some time to take my classes on it. I have to get it up and going soon. My old machine has been down for a while.

Cybrarian 12-27-2013 09:21 PM

My amazingly wonderful Santa Husband built me a most beautiful cutting station. Storage cubbies on both sides, hanging ruler storage and an extension that folds down when I don't need a huge cutting surface. Also a self healing Gingher cutting mat. I love it!!! DS & DDIL gave me a Joanns GC and younger DS gave me a stress floor mat for in front of my cutting & ironing stations. GCs from bosses and students for LQS purchases :-) joining the shopping ranks!

Dolphyngyrl 12-27-2013 09:25 PM

I gifted me and my new SIL some craftsy classes, my DH got me a rotating martelli mat which is really nice no room to use it yet but nice, got a joanns gift card from in laws which i bought fabric for my road 2 ca class and a book. got 50$ which i would normally buy quilty things but sadly need new jeans more

sewbizgirl 12-27-2013 09:45 PM

I bought myself a load of Christmas fabrics from JoAnn's at 70% off! I can sew table cloths, runners and quilts for next year, all for a pittance!

FranMat2013 12-27-2013 10:06 PM

I gifted myself all of the fabric needed for my granddaughters new cape. She believes all well dressed 5 year olds need a good cape.

Since my birthday is also in December, I have to make sure and differentiate between the two so that I always get two gifts from my DH. For my birthday, I got the circular attachment for my Bernina 440 and have been having fun doing circles. I have made a bunch of coasters / hot pot holders. One of my bosses always gives me a birthday gift, so I purchased the #55 leather foot (of course, I waited until the accessories were on sale). For Christmas, my son's family gave me a GC to the LQS. With that and the gifts my bosses gave me, I will be able to get 3 other feet (couching, FM couching and pintucks) and have enough left over to pay for a retreat I am planning to attend in April.

Haha! My birthday IS Christmas day and my family has tried to come up with ways to separate the two. Now I am just glad to be remembered. My older brother is also a Christmas baby, and tho our parents tried to celebrate both, we sometimes got lost in the shuffle. My younger brother was born Dec 15th so it was finally decided to celebrate all the birthdays on that day.

molsonbindie 12-30-2013 07:48 AM

I treated myself to a Quilt Cut 2 and love it, love it, love it........

SusanSusan33 12-30-2013 12:53 PM

I'm my own santa- I got the scallop template for edges and a new Ott light for my sewing corner. I buy myself anything I ever want/ need as it is... It sure would be nice to get quilty gifts, though...

My Mom MADE me a great carrier for a 9x13 cake pan. I love it and we've used it twice talking meals to the hospital visiting!!

SouthPStitches 12-30-2013 01:30 PM

Friends were kind enough to give me some beautiful fabric for Christmas. One quilty friend made me a lovely set of 4 place mats with a matching table runner in holiday print. My after Christmas gift to myself was placing an order with Connecting Threads, taking advantage of some great sale prices.
