barking-rabbit. I bought the spring clip scissors at the dollar tree for a buck. Yea, they work, so then I went back and got a second pair. They are in the garden section. they are garden snips actually. I use them on my rag quilts and save on my good fiskars spring scissors.

I use the Fiskars with the ergo handles and I love them. I have two pair and then a couple of smaller Fiskar's to keep at the sewing machine. I have the bent handled Fiskar's for rag quilts and couldn't do a rag quilt without them. Other scissors I have picked up along the way and don't care if I cut paper with and then some of those that can cut through a tin can. I use those to cut cardboard when needed.

I have the embroidery bent scissors too and love them for applique work. I use them curved towards my applique leaves and they work great. I am doing some applique work now and I have 5 pair of scissors on my table, and use embroidery scissors more than the others.

Owing to arthritic hands/fingers, I found they were easier to pick up than the ones that lay flat. . Later I used then to clip to a seam, trim threads and to trim an edge. I already knew they were sharp to the point and trimming with them was sooo nice. Now I keep them at the sewing machine and will purchase another pair to use at the ironing station. Please post a picture - I have the same problem and these sounds like they would be great. |

I have lost count of the number of scissors and snips I have. I have them in baskets, bins, totes, and drawers. My favorite specialty scissors are Karen Buckley, Heritage rag snips, Batting scissors, and my very favorite scissors are my Dovo and Nogent scissors.

Please explain/show the Dovo and Nogent scissors. Never heard of them. Regarding Karen Kay Buckley, have had the privilege to sit with her as a teacher. In one course, we made a Baltimore Album quilts using an Elly Seinkiewicz book. She lives nearby and have taken three one year classes from her. Karen is a great, very talented and funny teacher. If you ever get to see one of her programs or take a course, do so. You will not be disappointed.
