Disappearing 4 patch

Hello, after posting the picture to my "Garden of Gold" quilt, I had a lot of people ask how I made the block and what exactly I rotated to make it. So I put together a little image of what I did. Here is a rendition.

Usually (from what I have seen) the yellow and purple blocks are a solid and the other 2 are prints. I used a charm pack for the the prints, you can used charm packs for the solid too, but I just bought yardage and cut 5inch blocks from that. 2 charm packs of prints and the equivalent of 2 charm packs of solid (about 1.5yds) makes a throw, mine ended up being 53 inches by 62 inches or thereabouts.

If you notice on my 4 patch, I did NOT rotate the center small 4 patch. On the one by Missouri Star, she rotated the center 4 patch by 1 rotation.

Hope this helps everyone :)

Thank you. This will be a timer saver for all of us who like your quilt enough to try our own.

The visual you posted is perfect , I am one of those who needs the "photo" , as words just don't get me there like an image does. Thanks ..much appreciated.

Thank you so much for the drawings - I've printed them out because I too am a visual learner.

Thanks for. I'm working on a baby quilt now and think this will work great.
