I have made a few D9Ps and love the pattern. The first and second quilt pictures were made with just 3 fabrics--I really like the 3 fabric look. The first picture shows two D9P quilts I made for my twin grandnieces--I reversed the purple and floral blocks in these quilts. The third quilt made for my grandnephew has an embroidered WTP center block. The forth quilt for another grandnephew was made using various 1930's fabrics--the center block was always the same fabric...

I just recently investigated the Disappearing 9 Patch pattern and really loved it so it's on my "To Do" list. Think I will try it with just 3 fabrics. Beverly, that quilt is absolutely amazing! Not sure if I'll attempt that one yet but I'm going to put that on my list too.

Hey Barb glad to see you and Sue with your quilts. Good job.

I love the look of your quilt but I cannot seem to see how you added the extra half-square triangles. Could you explain that part a bit. Thanks a bunch.

Beverly,
Great quilt but I am totally in the dark as to how you went from a D9P to your end product. I would need a road map. Nice work! If you ever get around to it I would love for you to do a tutorial on how you accomplished this. Ann in TN

I'll try to attach a picture. I did most of the blocks while on vacation in the summer of 2010 using my old mechanical machine, Martelli Rotary Cutter, small cut & press board and 2 square rulers--6.5" and 12.5". Hubby & the kids fuss when I make them leave extra space to haul my mini, mobile quilt studio but they get over it--LOL.

3 color D9P works great. I have done one that way.

I'm working on one with 3 colors right now -- I just have 2 sides of the last border to attach -- I love it - started it a week ago, and had all but the borders done in 24 hours. When there is better light in here I'll take a picture -- it's still rather dark.
