I started to quilt back in the 90's,at that time I bought nothing but yardage. The last few years I have went more to kits.I like that I don't waste time or money looking for fabric ,buying more then I need,or buying to pieces because iam not sure which one I want, and iam ready to cut and sew right aways. And Lord knows I don't need more scraps.

I bought one but haven't made yet (had 3 years). I have such a fun time with colors that I just can't let someone else pick them

I have purchased a few kits this year. This is something new for me too as I always figure out the pattern and then get the yardage. I've enjoyed the kits that I did purchase but sometimes I think that for the price of the kits, you could get everything for the quilt, including the pattern and have left over fabric if you just put it together yourself. The cost of convenience!!!!

No, but I admire them and then think they look too expensive.

A kit would have to be spectacular for me to buy it. I like the freedom to change sizes. change colors, change fabrics, change arrangements.

Too much of a design it yourself-er to do kits. I did see one kit at a quilt show that caught my eye till I learned the price. Doing it a bit at a time doesn't assault the pocketbook quite so terribly. Plus I want plenty left over to do something else with!

I got one (Someone else bought it) but the quilt turned out really nice (Smaller than I would normally make) but its pretty I plan on making the pattern bigger and of course buying my own fabric choices If I had not liked the fabric in the kit I would not have made it.

Ive bever purchased a kit. Its too structured for me. I want something that no one else has. and I like having left over fabric for making scrappy. With a kit if I error, whick i often do, theres no way to just cut more. You have more faith in yourself than I.

No, never have. I like to make my own choices of fabrics. I have "won" three kits that I put together but have not purchased them.

I have started buying some kits. When DH and I travel, he will take me to many quilt shops, but he doesn't like to spend a lot of time in each one. If I see a kit I like, or one he likes, I will get it. If I am shopping alone, without other quilters or DH, then I take the time to pull my own fabric. Enjoy both. Kits are nice when you just want to start sewing and don't want to have to decide on fabric. Many times the kits are quick so you get instant gratification! :)
