My husband and I actually do more together than the average couple. Both our families live out of state so we really just have each other to turn too. Tracy (my husband) is the most generous and unselfish person I have ever met. I am beyond blessed to have him in my life. I like to "complain" about his typical manish ways, but when it comes right down to it, I know he's a keeper. :) |
He is a keeper! HOWEVER, to answer your orginal question...."Do I have the best husband or what?"
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I have the best one lol and we will be married 47 years in June. Margie :) |

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO I have the best one lol and we will be married 47 years in June. Margie :) Congrats on your upcoming anniversary! 47 years is an amazing milestone to reach. I remember going to my grandparents 50th party and hoping that someday I too could be celebrating that with someone. My husband and I will celebrate our 8th anniversary in October. We have quite a bit to show for that short amount of time together though! |
My hubby is pretty nice too!
BUT once in awhile I do ask "What do you want?!?!" Did you? LOL |
Your little "accomplishments" are absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
|
Ok ladies be thankful for your husbands I don't have one and still wondering if I want one. I hear they are like having another kid in the house. So what would be the pros and cons of having a husband?
|
What a sweetie is right! A keeper for sure. :)

Wow, a Hancocks right near a Walmart?? I'd have to put myself on severe $$ restrictions if I lived there!
|
He sounds very sweet. I think you should do something special for him, seal it with a kiss and a hug and tell him how much you appreciate his efforts and kindness. It may keep the trend going! It's better to reward the good behavior than point out the negative! :-) Good luck!
|
Well you must have done something good yourself and he was just feeling guilty and decided to wake up. Hope he stays that way and keeps doing good. Anyway sounds like a great hubby there.

My hubby helps me pick out matching fabrics & does the math stuff for me. He made a star template for me & helps me lay out patterns on my design board. There are some keepers out there! Mine is one, too.
|
Mine is a keeper, he can do really good with matching colors and he is a good dish washer. We are all lucy to have someone that cares. there are good and bad in all of use and we are lucy to have found someone that will put up with us.

After a too young first marriage with plenty of money worries and never being able to have anything to look forward to but payday I thought marriage was the pits. My second and last marriage I made sure a paycheck was the last thing we would have to worry about before becoming involved to the point of it didn't matter. Choose your spouse carefully because marriage will be your dream or your worse nightmare.
|
He definitely sounds like a keeper!!
|
Don't you love it when they surprise you?

all i can add is make sure you let him know how very much you love the time and thought he has put into you over the past few days, It always works for me..LOL...good luck
|
I think they like to keep us off guard!LOL My husband is pretty great to though. Constantly making me things and very supportive of my craft. I think I'll keep him too!
|
Yes he is a real keeper and just maybe a quilter in the making. Maybe there will be a time when he makes a space for the two of you to work together in.
|
yes indeed, you DO you have a great hubby!!
People had a hard time when I said one Feb 15 that my DH got me an extra wide ironing board for VDay.... but to ME?? the perfect gift (oh, there WAS chocolate, too....) --------------------------------------------------------------- Nothing to do with quilting, but marvelous husbands. Once for Valentine's Day, my darling (now gone) bought me my heart's desire..a three horsepower multi angled miter saw!! And, of course, chocolates!! Love him while he is here, time passes so fast that it will take your breath away. |

Rachel, do they still have the tobacco spitting contest in Raleigh?

 I'm jealous!!! Silvia

I think we all have wonderful husbands (spouses). Mark and I have been together for 35 years, married 30 years and I think we grow closer each day. I love when he goes with me to the LQS. He is so much better at picking out material than I am. We have even taken our grandsons (16 months and 4 months) to the quilt shows. They love the bright colors of the quilts. We should have a "special day for our hubbys." Maybe take them out to dinner (that way we won't have to cook).

A marriage needs to be based off of trust, love ,and morals. Money does play a part in it but only if one of the partners put more emphasis on it that the other one. My great grand parents were married for eons and they were dirt poor sharecroppers and moonshiners and they were the happiest couple that you have ever seen. They didnt get running water in their 3 room home until 1976. And they never had a bathroom it was always an out house. I have always worked hard and overachieved at all of my goals. I was married at 19 and even though my wife was 32 and had a nice career as a Paralegal we both worked hard to get ahead and save money. When she was pregnant with our first child I made her quit her job and she has never worked a day since. Then after the second kiddo popped up I was putting in endless hours in an upper corporate job and finally decided one day that I was missing everything that was important to me, my family. So I quit my 6 digit a year job and have never looked back. It helped that everything I own has always been paid for (we never had bought anything on credit) and that my wife and I have always put God, family and each other before anything else. Its been 10 years since I even had a job and we have been married for 26 years this year. We are not the richest people out here but we have money in the account, roof over our heads, food in the pantry, and our family values are like they were in 1951. Hence my screen name Lostn51!! Billy |
We were married 48 years last Dec. 30th. We have worked at a job together for the last almost 23 years and ride to and from work together. We were married young, me 16 him 20. No all roses and sunshine but, we haven't had any serious problems and work out any problem that comes along. That is the secret. Be committed to one another and stay committed. Two of our kids have been divorced and third divorced twice. 22 year old Granddaughter thinks that is ironic.

So great to hear another woman describe my hubby so well.
You call it like it is, and today? it is good. Yes, make that man a quilt, and soak it up and don't talk too loud. In my experience?...little birdies tell it and !poof! it's over  |
You definitely have a keeper and I'm sure he is aware of how he acts. That was probably his way of making it up to you without actually coming out and saying it. The important thing is that he helped you and bought you those things. Just let him know how much you appreciate him and I'm sure he will surprise you even more. Especially after you make him a quilt with the condition of cuddling with you. LOL
|
If you get tired of him, send him to me. :D Just kidding.
My hubby always helps me put the "sandwich" together. We use our Queen sized bed because neither of us can get down on the floor and work. Getting old is awful. |

I hope you all realize how good your husbands are, because you certainly will when they are gone, as I am finding out. I have been married for a little over 44 years and my husband passed away three weeks ago. I miss him terribly. So everyone, go and give your husband an extra little hug. You'll be glad you did, plus it will keep him wondering why.
|
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your dear husband. My heart goes out to you.
Ray and I have been married 45 years. He aggravates me at time, but I would certainly be lost without him.

Sorry to hear about your DH Granda. We do need to appreciate the people in our lives while they are here because our time here is brief. Love them while you can and show them that love!
|
IF you like this behavior, play it forward....reciprocate by doing loving things such as he gave you........it's kinda like training our children and our dogs, give them a treat when their behavior is exceptional....I act so much sweeter when my man does these unusually kind, thoughtful deeds for me.....I just want to hug him and go make him his favorite pineapple upside down cake!! us..........Yea, think you got a keeper there my dear!
