MamaBear61 03-26-2010 04:54 AM

I have used several of the sites others have listed and also have used favoritefabrics.com and craftconn.com

salmonsweet 03-26-2010 05:02 AM

Ah, another one of these... :-) If you search for online fabric shops on this board, you'll find several threads posted in the last few months alone.

I've ordered from:
webfabrics.com
thousandsofbolts.com
favoritefabrics.com
equilter.com
fabric.com

So far I've had good experiences, I'd happily buy again from each of them. Fabric.com are a bit odd for international shipping, unlike most they won't split your order if sending it in two envelopes would be cheaper than in one big box so I have to watch out what I'm doing with them.

danmar 03-26-2010 05:05 AM

I buy lots and lots of fabrics from the eBay store
crowsnestquiltingfabrics. They are awesome and their Red Rooster fabrics are only $2.99 a yard! My aunt gave me a link that she buys from but I haven't tried it yet. (She has) That's marshalldrygoods.com. I love their prices too.

salmonsweet 03-26-2010 05:40 AM

Forgot:
fabricparadise.com

:-)

sandiannie 03-26-2010 05:46 AM

I have bought from some of the sites listed above.
I also like:
www.bugfabric.com
www.fabricdepot.com

another one that was suggested to me, but I have not used yet is www.whittlesfabrics.com

I especially like the sites with design boards so you can compare thumbnails side by side

cuppi duke 03-26-2010 06:20 AM

I buy a lot from virginiaquilter.com; eleanorburnsquilt in a day; hancoks of paducah. Have had good luck with all of them.

Tally Kathy 03-26-2010 04:52 PM

Fabshophop.com will connect to many, many on-line quilt shops. I do the Fab Shop hop every other month or so and get some discounts or gift certificates at no charge.

raptureready 03-26-2010 05:22 PM

www.fabricparadise.com
She has a lot of out of print, hard to find fabrics. And a lot of them aren't on her website yet so if you can't find what you're looking for just call her. She has great service too. I ordered on a Thursday and the fabric was here on Monday from Conneticut to Illinois.

I've a few to try, but not anytime soon. Have to be good, bc I've been bad

Connectingthreads.com and thousands of bolts have both been good to me.

katsewnsew 03-27-2010 04:59 AM

I shop ebay, fabric.com, Hancock's of Paducah, thousands of bolts, and more. I am always searching for a good sale as I cannot afford $8-10 per yard. I have bought from others, and have never had a problem. Shipping charges can be tricky for some, tho. ebay sellers will state they can send 7-8 yards cotton fabric in $5.00 Priority Envelope, while others, for example, my last order from equilter.com, I purchased 6.5 yds of sale fabric, but had to pay regular rate, $9.50 for postage, I called them about it and they said that sale fabrics shipping rates are charged by what their full price was, not the sale price. Needless to say, not too happy, but fabric was nice and I got over it.

calicocat 03-27-2010 05:20 AM

I order often from equilter.com. Have had the best service from them. Also, thefatquaterstore.com and keepsakequilting.com oh and seawatchfabric.com they have great oriental fabrics.

raptureready 03-27-2010 05:24 AM

I've purchased from several different businesses and have been pleased with all of them. I don't buy fabric off e-bay from individuals because you never know for sure what it is.

J and O Fabrics has a lot of fun fabric, trademark, animal, children's, sports and others.

ok, I have to tell you what happened to me. I have one credit card I use for online shopping which is mostly for fabric and threads etc. I have shopped at most of the stores mentioned. One day a lady called me from QVC (home shopping) and asked me if I purchased a computer to be sent to NY. She gave me my last 4 digits of my CC...EEK..I said NO,OOOO. She cancelled the order and told me to cancel my CC (which I did). The only reason she called me is because it is their policy to call and verify if the name doesn't match the card number....Thank goodness she did!! I don't even know anyone in NY! I have always only used this card on "secure" sites so...beware everyone!

We never have any problems with customer purchases or deliveries.

Please stop by and take a look.

I second Fabric Depot. Plus you can't beat Over The Rainbow in Washinton State. I think the URL is www.overrainbow.com.

bstanbro 03-27-2010 07:36 AM

www.fabric.com
www.jofabrics.com

I've had no problems, and the fabric comes FAST!

heather_campbell 03-27-2010 07:55 AM

I have ordered from the Fat Quarter shop a number of times. It is quilt-specific, they have kits and FQ bundles, etc. The owner Kimberly is awesome and I have not had any trouble with them:

http://www.fatquartershop.com

I have also ordered from fabric.com twice. Again, no issues.

patricej 03-27-2010 08:57 AM

lots of my favorites have already been listed. i would like to add one "go-to" site i discovered during the february fabshophop.

If you go to quiltshops.com you will see many of the places I have done business with. I like Ann's Fabric and Crafts, in New Hampshire, the best.

BellaBoo 03-27-2010 09:28 AM

I buy from any online shop that has a clearance at the time I want to buy. I've never had any problems. Any online shop that doesn't know one bad review posted about bad service can result in thousands of no orders deserve to be out of business.

nancylouie 03-27-2010 10:56 AM

I was wondering if there is a online site for buying thread. I ma interested in finding Masterpiece by alex Anderson or King tut bu superior.

Sparky 03-27-2010 10:58 AM

I have found it hard to find hand dyes locally and a special project that calls for color gradations or applique work might need them. Janet Smith is wonderful to work with. She will even send swatches. She also sells pieces in very small amounts. Her prices are very reasonable considering what they are. Here is the link. https://www.textileart.com]https://www.textileart.com[/url]

Have shopped at equilter.com. Beautiful fabrics, great service and they donate part of your purchase to charities (you can choose from a list.)

charmpacksplus 03-27-2010 12:09 PM

If I may toot my own horn.... I sell pre-cut Moda fabrics online on my own website, ebay, and etsy, also have a facebook page (please be my friend!) but I don't actually sell from there, only promote. I only accept PayPal so both the buyer and seller are protected. I rarely get any complaints but if I do I handle them pronto. My shipping is free on website orders and I use only USPS First Class Mail on single item orders, or USPS Priority Mail if the package weighs more than 13 ounces. My customers love the fabric and the fast, free shipping.

I buy fabric often on line. My favorite shops show large swatches, descriptions, and "eQuilter.com" has color matching and lists items related to the swatch you are looking at.They always have a sale or two, and a list each week of new fabrics. I am always looking for unusual fabric with good designs and unique fabric as well as fabric with texture. Diana T Quimby

I am buying more and more fabrics on line. My favorite place is
www.fabricshack.com which is here in Ohio. They have the largest and best selection of fabrics I have ever seen both on line and in their store. I also order from: Keepsake Quilting, Virginia Quilter, Suzanne's Quilt Shop, Connecting Threads, and Ebay. So far I have never had a problem with on line buying.

barbgooch 03-27-2010 05:44 PM

fabricshack.com is a good one.
