Do you ever find you want to sew something simple and easy between quilts?

Have just finished quilt and before I go on to the next one, going to sew some doll quilts. Anyone breaks and no brainers between quilts?

EasyPeezy 01-12-2013 09:24 AM

Definitely. Right now I'm working on some quilted pillows then I will finish a wall-hanging
before I go back to my Christmas quilt. I was waiting for some white batting to finish this.
This also gives me an opportunity to experiment with Elmer's school glue before doing
a big quilt. I'm just working my way up. :)

Yes, sometimes I just need something fast and easy!!

Did some searching and found something that is easy and I have everything I could use in it, in my fabric. ((Even better! :) !!) Here is the link to it, hope it works.

Not planning on copying it, but using some of the ideas.

I usually have quilts planned out 2-3 in advance, buying fabrics a little here, a little there, so that when I am ready to start one, I have everything I need. But I also usually have several projects in process at the same time. That way if I am not in the mood to work on one particular project (usually because I am having issues), I can work on something different. Right now I am in process on one quilt, gathering fabrics for the next two, and a bag to get started on later today. I just really hate not having more than one item in the works ;)

I often make a tote bag or something like that which I can either use or will come in handy for a small gift. Yes, it is good to have a change after completing a quilt.

I have been doing some digging in my scraps, leftovers from quilts done, can do this today easily, once I start.
That is the good thing about doing a quilt, no matter how accurately you try to figure things out, there is always too much. Which come in handy for things like this, little breaks and no stress. I like that.

Without a doubt. Simple wall hangings, tote bags, wallets, mini quilts, table runners and other gift type items all make their way into my inbetween quilt time.

I also have UFO projects that I move back and forth to and this keeps me interested in each part of a project.

This is exactly what I do. One quilt and then 2 or 3 smaller, faster projects.

I make mainly scrap quilts, so between quilts I will make up. 4 or 9 patch blocks, I also sew strips on to telephone book pages trim them up they will come in nice and handy for borders of scrap quilts or cut onto blocks, these are both no brainers, but fill my urge to sew
