I think the quilt is beautiful the way it is. I try to split a heavy batting once with mixed results, so I put it aside to use as pillow filling, works great.

When "non quilters" think of a quilt they think of something fluffy...or fat. Its a fabulous quilt and I think it's perfect the way it is, and whoever receives it will love it too!

per Joann's description. I appreciate everyone's advice. I guess I will keep the batting for charity quilts. I can see it being used for tied quilts only, tho I don't really like them. It won't go to waste. I really do hate it tho! Thanks for your positive comments on my scrappy quilt top. |
Many years ago when I didn't know what to buy, and ended up with fat batting, I would split it in half, and would usually pull apart quilt well.

I really don't know, rupe... I buy it from a wholesaler and it's a huge unmarked roll. It's about an inch thick. If you are near Mississippi, come get it! I'm make you a real good deal! :)

I like the quilt and I think the fluffiness will be very much appreciated by the recipient. And hey, you learned a lesson , right?--that you hate to work that particular batting. Too bad you bought a whole roll, but surely someone will want it. Sometimes cutting your losses and moving on is the best solution.

You couldn't be more right, Zozee!
