Do you fall in love with certain fabric lines and do you have a special manufacturer that is your absolute favorite?

I have really enjoyed some of Moda's Kansas Troubles fabrics, and am working on a quilt with them now. Then there's a few Maywood lines that are so very pretty......

Maride 04-26-2010 01:42 PM

I usually do but never get them, because I wouldn't know what to do with them. I like to mix and match things.

katei 04-26-2010 01:43 PM

All things Moda!! :-P

erstan947 04-26-2010 01:44 PM

All things fabric.

mamaw 04-26-2010 02:02 PM

Moda Kansas Troubles....can't decide which fabrics to buy, so have settled for layer cakes. That way I get a little of all the fabrics to use in a project.

If it looks like a 30's repro, it usually has to follow me home or land in my mailbox

Pam 04-26-2010 02:33 PM

I LOVE batiks and hand dyed fabriks. I am thinking I need to learn..... Look out fabric world, another hand dyer is heading your way!!!!

GrammaNan 04-26-2010 02:40 PM

I love Moda and have recently discovered Jinny Beyer fabrics. I love her border fabrics. Other than that, I am more into colors and designs and... inexpensive.

dglvr 04-26-2010 02:48 PM

I usually don't go into a fabric store looking for the manufacturer I just go to whatever is calling my name. That would pretty much cover them all. Although I have noticed that Micheal Miller is in my dog fabric collection quite a bit.

amma 04-26-2010 03:06 PM

Batiks and handyes for me too :D:D:D

bearisgray 04-26-2010 03:09 PM

Dan Morris designs for cats. Don't remember the manufacturer.

Esqmommy 04-26-2010 03:15 PM

Kaffe Fassett and his progeny (Brandon Mabley, etc)....I'm a sucker for it all!

katier825 04-26-2010 03:20 PM

Many of my favorite prints are by Kaufman. I also like a lot of prints by Sue Zipkin and Laurel Burch for Clothworks. I do like some of the Moda, but not the muddy browns. I wish they'd have a few more brighter collections.

red roses 04-26-2010 04:01 PM

I also love Moda Kansas Troubles!! I chose it for a Dear Jane quilt I'm doing. Hope they keep making more of this fabric, because I'm moving rather slow on it. I have a pretty good stash of it,I think. Each new set of fabrics is beautiful!

burnsk 04-26-2010 04:09 PM

The Moda marbles and blenders are great. Always have to have them on hand.

Karen's Kreations 04-27-2010 04:02 AM

I'm a Moda junkie - also batiks.

Charlee 04-27-2010 04:13 AM

Different things trip my trigger at different times! I love the CW repros...and the 30's...batiks....lately I've been eyeballing velvets and satins with a crazy quilt in mind...
Oh heck! I just love them ALL!!

CarrieAnne 04-27-2010 04:31 AM

Mines usually anything 30's, as I love the colors, or dog and cat fabric, or some totally awesome floral....so I guess no real fabric lines. guess I am a random person, LOL!

debbieumphress 04-27-2010 04:40 AM

Ooohhh, I so agree with you 100%. :) My FAVORITE, FAVORITE line of fabric is Kansas Troubles. I always buy the fat quarter bundle, 3 jelly rolls, and 4 charm packs from every line of Kansas Troubles even if I don't have a pattern in mind for the fabric.

Borntohandquilt 04-27-2010 05:15 AM

My favourites are Quilt Gate Fabrics, especially Gentle Flowers and Mrs. March's Collection. I love rose prints.

AkAngel 04-27-2010 05:22 AM

Lol, I started reading this thread and the first thing that popped in my head was Kansas Troubles,I love them too. I made my Kool Katz quilt from those and I still have many more. Have any of you seen the new line from KT Butterfly Garden? I love them, I drool thinking about them.
I also really like Hoffmans especially their lines with metallic finish. And I'm a blender holic if again especially Moda blenders.
Muriel

I just fell in love with Flora and Fauna by Michael Miller, designed by Patty Young. All three colorways are gorgeous. I ordered a stack of fat quarters of each fabric and sit and pet it like a cat. I wonder if that's normal ....

wvdek 04-27-2010 05:32 AM

Any fabric that 'hits' me at the moment.

ceegee 04-27-2010 05:39 AM

YES! Just yesterday I walked through an entire quilt shop that was in a town we were visiting. I came to the last row of fabrics and thought... I can actually wait until the next time we come through here... and then I saw four bolts of the creamiest, softest looking fabric prints. They were Millhouse inn by Moda. I bought half a yard of each but know I will be back to look at the rest of the line. I can think of sorts of quilting projects to use them in.

Is anyone familiar with the Timeless Treasures Pattern "Easy Stripped Table Runner"? They are quick and easy but it is so hard to find suitable fabric. It helps if the stripes are not all the same width. Any suggestions?

Janetlmt 04-27-2010 09:28 AM

I love fabric...period...lol

lfw045 04-27-2010 09:47 AM

quiltluvr 04-27-2010 11:21 AM

I really like Moda's Aviary and Astor Manor by 3 Sisters.

canmitch1971 04-27-2010 11:25 AM

Modas Natures Notebook...but its (sigh) not in the budget any time soon.

Corky 04-27-2010 03:26 PM

I am currently in love with all things bright and bold. Just a phase I'm sure, since I've gone through so many - there was my blue and white phase (which is always lurking nearby), my Thimbleberries, Kansas Troubles and Jo Morton phases, my civil war and 30's phases, pink and brown phase, then pink with anything! Of course, each time, I have to collect those colors. That is how you build a stash to the sky. Lord help me!
