I'm passing on patterns and quilt magazines too. I'm trying to be more creative and use my software instead.

If I do an easy quilt, its easy enough I don't need a pattern and can draw it out myself. If I pay money for a book or pattern or anything else, it is because I can't do it myself. I find myself using "easy" patterns for children's quilts and charity quilts (also for children) and for myself gravitating towards the more difficult patterns. I buy quilt books, but not individual patterns because I feel like I get a lot more bang for my buck out of a book with many block patterns and quilt patterns, not just one pattern I'll make one time (because I've never done the same quilt twice).

I try to not buy to many. I never follow it anyway. I"m always changing it. Also so many free patterns on net. I am more concerned in learning a new technique, then adapt it to my quilting. I can usually figure out a pattern from the picture.

We have a group of us that share our books and patterns since we all have way more than we should !

Gosh, with the patterns and free patterns on the internet, I find I don't have to keep as many. So I have sold my stash of patterns, all but about 40, on here to share. I stil need to go thru the magazines. I keep them in date order by magazines and am getting close to being a magazine hoarder. LOL. SO I, too am going to discontinue my subscriptions. It's more ads than learning now. Have to get my dh to quit automatically mailing in my notices when he gets them. Think of the money we can save for fabrics????

After about 5 pinwheels going to do some panel quilts, one Asian, one African and one of the USA. A no brainer.

I skip the paper piecing and the applique. I just haven't been in the mood for these.

I have been passing on patterns lately as the price is getting to high. I look at past patterns and change the color or mix and match patterns and I get a new look.

I have more patterns and books then I can ever finish in my lifetime.

Yes, passing on a lot of patterns. Occasionally going through my pattern notebook and tossing patterns.
