My life is full of deadlines, so I do not impose them on my hobbies and passions.

I have a list of projects for the next few years.

In no particular order:

Kaffe Mystery Quilt
A BOM from a couple years ago
A Panda quilt for a niece
A cat quilt for a friend
A kit of simple squares, but the fabric makes it pop
Maple Leaf Quilt, I have been collecting fabrics and think I have all I need.

Although I have a HQ 16 in the basement, I have not used 'Diana' in two years. I have two tops that I will quilt by cheque, just to get them out of the house. One is going to be a gift, the other just to get it done.

I hope to attend 2 quilt retreats and perhaps some workshops too.

We hope to move in 2019, so I'll be de-stashing books, fabric, photos, etc. etc. Hope to finish a few UFOs and give them to people and charities. Then I'll have the fun of setting up a new sewing/guest room.

Lots to do in 2019, number one is recover from neck fusion surgery - have that on the 12th of this month - had it done at a lower level 12 years ago and recovery was fairly easy, hope this time is the same. (same surgeon)

2. get sewing room in new house ready to accept stuff from old house (lucky for me husband is staying in old house for a few years, so I can pick and choose when I move stuff)

3. help take care of granddaughters while parents are away from home at jobs (son home every third week for a week) (DIL will be away for 6 months, home on some weekends) - thankfully there are plenty of family and friends available to assist - their other grandma will be main caretaker (younger than me!)

4. make quilts for DGD's beds in my house (fabric & pattern ready)

5. arrange to have large items moved from house in Connecticut to house in Texas. Thinking machines will be packed into car and driven; other stuff will be sent via mover.

6. Enjoy not working midnight to 8am! maybe get part-time job in a new area of nursing - keeping options open - so done with correctional nursing. Of course I need to get a nursing license in Texas first, my current state license does not qualify for direct transfer of license - bummer!

Most definitely......Quilt the Bible Sampler Quilt top I made for myself along with matching shams, Twin size Civil War Battle Quilt for my son and make a queen size quilt for my daughter and son-in-law. They just finished redoing their bedroom. I gave them 12 different choices in patterns and had them choose 2 each and from there I would made the final decison on which one depending upon the fabrics I find. This way it will still be a surprise next Christmas and it gives me a year to complete the project. Picked up the fabric for the projects a couple of days ago so I'm good to go.

I usually am not a list maker. That being said, it is too easy to be distracted from accomplishing what I really want to do because I add in this project or that project of say I will do more for a boutique group I belong to or my quilt guild. Last year, my list of accomplishments was impressive (to these other groups) but lacking in my opinion because I still have too may UFOs. So, I think I will make a list. Then, I will stick to it! Wish my luck!

I retire on January 11th. Can't begin to wrap my head around the list of to dos. Just looking forward to taking the time to sew and craft. First up is a quilt I started for my dad. He's been gone almost 5 years now. Then the list will come together as I clean and sort. No buying for me except for backing and batt.

Oops, forgot to add 21 st birthday quilt for youngest granddaughter. Fortunately that’s not due til next November.

Not a list really, but I think I will be doing more wall hangings to give away. I have so many lap quilts that I am running out of places to put them.

I'm a Project Linus quilt maker, so planning on working up my stash of fabric for those, and will piece ones from the scraps that are leftover. I also plan on using my stash to make table runners and mats for a show or two next fall. And of course there is the laundry hamper of strips leftover to cut down to size and one major UFO in the closet that I would love to finish. I have two little grand-daughters ages 6 months and 4 1/2 so there will be some sewing for them of doll clothes, doll blankets and sleeping bags for the dolls I plan on giving to them next Christmas. I also have a set of 6 quilt blocks to finish embroidering to set into a quilt. Enough stuff to keep me busy and out of trouble (lol) wouldn't you say??

I have a few Queen (plus) sized quilts that need to be basted and quilted... 3 English Paper Pieced quilts in progress and about 7 more various sized quilts ready to be quilted. 3 sets of quilt blocks that are ready to assemble and add borders. and a couple quilts that I'm working on the units for the blocks.
The Needs to be quilted pile is what is stressing me out most... next is the EPP group. Adding borders to these always stresses me out, because it requires removing all the templates, pressing carefully, usually also cutting off some of the hand pieced sections to make straight edges, and well, then it's another quilt that needs to be quilted. For some reason, I prefer to quilt for others. It's easier to decide what to quilt, and I have a deadline, so I just get it done. I tend to go round and round on my own quilts, dwelling on the possibilities too long.
