I like that someone with a better eye for color combos is helping me out! It's nice to have a bunch of them fjor when I don't know what I want to do.

I bought one online a few years ago and was very disappointed with the fabric quality. The only other I have bought was for a class at LQS. They had assembled the kit so I knew the fabric quality was good.

I use quilts kits all the time because I have limited access to fabric options. Now, if you're talking about pre-cut kits, I've never tried one of those.

I did a kit this summer - It was awesome! I really appreciated all the fabric arriving a the same time. (I'm challenged when it comes to co-ordinating material!) If I'd had no interruptions I'd have had it pieced in about 6-8 hours.

If I see another kit that calls my name...I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat!

Heard that some are cut so close there is NO room for error, and sometimes extra fabric is needed, which may or may not be available, so I don't buy kits.

Normally a KIT is nothing more than a published pattern coupled with the amount of fabric given for that pattern.
If is the Kit is easy, it means that is a great pattern.
You failed to say what the name of the kit/patterns was.

No, not all kits are easy. It all depends on the pattern used.

Not all kits are created equal. Some shops make up their own shop kits. Using generic patterns and whatever leftover non-selling fabric they can find to put in it.

One should never judge ALL kits equally. That would be like saying ALL patterns are terrible just because you tried one your skill level was not ready for!

Honestly, know what is in the kit prior to purchasing it!
Know your skill level before biting off more than you can sew!

I have done a few kits and do like to do them. I bought one kit when I was traveling and when I made it I didn't have enough material. So if I do buy any kits now I only buy local just in case it is short on material.

I have made a few and yes, it was easier than measuring and cutting myself. I have a few more kits I am going to make as well.

Almost everything I do is from a kit and I have had good luck. I use quilts because I am overwhelmed when attempting to select fabrics on my own. I was having trouble understanding instructions in one kit and even managed to get the designer on the phone and she walked me through it.

I have tried a few kits and found that the material is JUST enough no room for error, measure 3 or more times and cut once or your on a mission to find more fabric, so good luck on kits and the hunt for fabric.
