I remove as I go along. Luckily, I had glasses on one time. Pin flew and stuck right level with top of glasses and went right into skin. Drew a little blood.

I mostly sew over pins, but if things are going well I pull them out before I get to them. So far so good. I don't use a computerized machine so maybe if I did, I'd do things differently.

I remove them when I get to them. I have hit a pin before and never did find where the tip of it went, then did find one down in where the bobbin goes. Not worth it to me to have perfect seams, so I just get it to the needle then remove. I have several friends that sew over them, brave souls!

I pin parallel to the seam when possible, remove pins in the stitching path just before the needle reaches them.

I rarely pin. Instead I use a stiletto to hold and move my fabric.

I remove the pins as I get to them. I keep sewing as I remove them, just slow down a little.

I remove as I sew. hate sewing over pins and they say it's bad for the machine and dangerous for your eyes!

I agree with quilter purpledog. Someone on this board just mentioned about a pin flying in her eye, can't remember the thread though. I don't sew over pins just because I don't want to cause any damage to my machine.

I didn't use to till I hit one with my needle. Broke the needle and knocked it out of time. Now that I live a distance from a repair shop, I removed my pins as I sew. I've gotten to the point of using Elmer's Glue a lot of the time if trying to match seams, add binding, etc. Eliminates the use of pins.

I hate pinning and only do it when I absolutely have to. But if necessary, I try to pin so they won't be in the seam while sewing. If they are in the seam I remove them. Was always told that pins could upset the timing if you hit one just right.
