Trust me, it is quilting related. I know what this is but does anyone else? This sweet little bit became one of my treasures today. She was found at an antique store and I paid less than $20. for her and she is priceless to me.

I hope I give some people a smile when I reveal her later, like Wednesday, maybe!:D
I am going to enjoy seeing answers.
Make your week a good one.

? odd picture showed up.

ruthrings 03-22-2015 05:25 PM

It looks to me as, if it were opened, it would be one of those things around which you wrap yarn after it has been spun.

QuiltnMyra 03-22-2015 05:34 PM

Mmmm... Quilt related? Not big enough to be a folding quilt display rack. A priceless treasure? I don't have the answer but will also be waiting to see some of those answers, so come on ladies. What do you think?

lynnie 03-22-2015 06:21 PM

at first I thought it was a cloths dryer, but then it's too small. now you got me.

Teddybear Lady 03-22-2015 06:40 PM

Does it hold spools of thread when you open it up?

Sandra in Minnesota 03-22-2015 06:42 PM

Looks liked a fence and you push it into the ground. Strange.

juneayerza 03-22-2015 07:07 PM

Is it a quilting frame of some sort?

JuneBillie 03-22-2015 07:48 PM

I think a holder for little spools of threads etc.

Annz 03-22-2015 07:51 PM

You have me stumped.

AliKat 03-22-2015 08:54 PM

I can see it being a small toy folding crib. Goes with the dolls anyway.

DOTTYMO 03-22-2015 10:37 PM

Wool winder, put balls in flat area .

running1 03-23-2015 02:59 AM

I have NO idea...but can't wait to see the answer! It is beautiful, just sitting there!

Onebyone 03-23-2015 04:43 AM

What does it look like when the ends are expanded?

ManiacQuilter2 03-23-2015 04:46 AM

Does it open up???

PenniF 03-23-2015 05:53 AM

Definitely looks like it expands to become a bigger something.....but you've got me.

JustAbitCrazy 03-23-2015 06:07 AM

I'm going to guess it's a collapsible hand quilting frame or embroidery frame. Wild guess!

KLO 03-23-2015 06:58 AM

I'm thinking it might be a sewing "box" for holding needles, scissors, thread, etc. and expands open when needed. Now I just have to remember to come back later this week to find out what it really is.

Tartan 03-23-2015 07:46 AM

I think it's an expandable sewing basket.

garysgal 03-23-2015 01:52 PM

maybe a collapsible sewing caddy?

tate_elliott 03-23-2015 02:39 PM

Is it a folding fizzbin?

Tate

ube quilting 03-23-2015 03:52 PM

Fizzbin, that will be its' official name from now on, nice try!

I will post Wednesday evening. Ii is fun to see the creative ideas everyone has.

Monroe 03-23-2015 04:59 PM

It looks like it might open out into a small crate or basket- or doll bed? At first I though it was one of those folding things for marking equidistant segments but it wouldn't need to have 2 scissoring sides. I'm stumped.

rebeljane 03-23-2015 05:15 PM

Expanding book rack?

sewingsuz 03-23-2015 06:37 PM

It is a sewing box that stands and opens up what lids on the top and then it has departments one under another.

tapper 03-24-2015 02:52 AM

Looks like a quilt rack for mini quilts..

Battle Axe 03-24-2015 03:18 AM

I haven't read all the posts, but if you were a spinner and dying your own skiens, I would hang them there to drip and dry.

tootsie00 03-24-2015 04:07 AM

Looks like an accordion fold doll crib.

Sandra-P 03-24-2015 04:16 AM

I am jealous! It looks to be an expandable sewing or knitting cradle. Very good find! So fun when you come across something so interesting!

lclang 03-24-2015 04:52 AM

Looks like an expanding sewing/knitting bag to me.

weegrannie 03-24-2015 05:13 AM

Might be a stand for holding hanks of wool in order to wind them into a ball

IrishgalfromNJ 03-24-2015 05:37 AM

You haven't showed us the inside. I'm guessing that it's got dowels inside and you can hang strips of fabric on the dowels to keep them organized.

Jingle 03-24-2015 06:04 AM

Looks like a scissor type gate to me.

jothesewer2 03-24-2015 06:24 AM

I think it is a table to set your sewing machine on. It stretches out and the top comes up. Anxious to see what it is.

citygirlsews 03-24-2015 08:29 AM

I thought it was a clothes drying rack, but it is too small. Is it a thread case?

roserips 03-24-2015 09:15 AM

What a fun thread, I think it is a collapse-able sewing kit. Have never seen one like that but that's my guess and I will just have to wait and see.

MargeD 03-24-2015 10:31 AM

Well, at first it looked like a folding clothes rack, but it's probably too small. Can't wait to see what the answer is on Wed. You've got me stumped.

P-BurgKay 03-24-2015 11:15 AM

Is it a button hole spacer, that you can also measure pleats and tucks with?

GrammieJan 03-24-2015 11:28 AM

What it looks like to me is an expandable magazine rack, but that is not quilting related. Maybe it holds quilting patterns or books?

matraina 03-24-2015 11:55 AM

Looks to me that, if opened, it could be a bassinnette.

sylvia776 03-24-2015 12:17 PM

It looks like a folding wine rack to me....just goes to show where my mind is going!!! Fun thread. Looking forward to all being revealed on Wednesday.
