I sort my out my greens by yellow and black...some greens have a bit of yellow, lime, Kelly, and some have a bit of black, avocado, forest. You can mix all black/greens together with harmony and so also with all yellow greens. Go to the paint department of your local box store and gather up as many green paint chips as you can. Then go play with mixing green tones and tints to your hearts content and you will learn something about color theory. Also if you want a gorgeous mix here is one I have found...lime, avocado, forest greens mixed with dark chocolate brown. I brown is you major color then the greens smile and play nice.

This is very good advice. And I'll confess, I have plenty of black but basically no brown to speak of in my stash. Will have to keep my eyes open for some.

I have that problem more often with blues. I have tons of them but never seem to have the right one and go to 4 diff shops trying to find it. What I have learned about colors going together over my 3 yrs of quilting is to not look too closely when you have that problem. Put your other fabrics on your design wall or a flat surface then put one green option at a time with them. Stand further away to observe and take a picture of each. Once you see the pictures you may see that there is a green that looks good with the others. The colors don't have to match exactly. I learned that from seeing beautiful quilts that have colors, or shades and tints of colors that I would never have put together but actually made the quilt come alive. Good luck!
