Does anyone know the name of this pattern?

Ann912 10-25-2016 06:57 AM

I wish I did know! It's beautiful!

Jordan 10-25-2016 07:28 AM

I don't know but it is beautiful and I am sure someone on this QB will come thru for you. Hopefully, you will get a name of the pattern soon.

SuziSew 10-25-2016 07:56 AM

That's fantastic! I'll be watching to see if someone comes up with the name of pattern!

Chytayzie 10-25-2016 08:14 AM

Beautiful. I'd love to learn the name also.

JustAbitCrazy 10-25-2016 08:24 AM

How pretty! I don't think I've seen this one before. I've seen similar quilts (scattered stars of varying sizes) without the white background rectangles.

sewbizgirl 10-25-2016 08:30 AM

Very pretty! Love the border... You would definitely need a big design wall for this one.

tessagin 10-25-2016 08:37 AM

How did you come across the photo? If it was on Pinterest, there should be a clue if you click on the photo.

zennia 10-25-2016 08:38 AM

I don't know the name but it's a beauty. Hope someone comes along with the name and even better name and pattern directions.

btiny36 10-25-2016 09:36 AM

I'm only guessing here but it looks like a pattern by Judy Martin...it comes from one of her cd's stars...it just might be the pattern All In The Family Sampler here is her site just scroll down to the pattern and view other's who made it...there's about 6 who made this

Don't know, but I love it! May be able to draft the pattern. I'm pretty sure the blocks are set on point.

Kitsie 10-25-2016 11:09 AM

How very striking!!! Hope you find the pattern. I didn't know, but if you right click the picture you are given the option to find it on google. No luck with this one!

I've drafted the pattern on my software and it is not set on point. My blocks are 12" and the pieced border is 4". Here is the main block and cutting directions: With a 2" black inner border, the 4" pieced border and another 4" solid border, the quilt comes out to about 68"x68. The border blocks are the same size as the two smaller stars in the big block but you'll need to put a vertical line between black and white rather than a horizontal line as is shown in the big block.

cashs_mom 10-25-2016 01:17 PM

Wow, it's beautiful! Thanks for the info, Chris.

Quilting Chris 10-25-2016 01:42 PM

I guess my block needs some refinement. It probably needs to be constructed using more half square triangles or flying geese. Sorry about the premature cutting directions post. If anyone wants an updated version, please let me know, but I probably won't post another until I actually construct a block.

maryb119 10-25-2016 02:13 PM

I don't know the name of it but I love it!

QuiltnLady1 10-25-2016 05:38 PM

Don't know the name. Looks like it is all friendship stars of different sizes. Very pretty quilt.

Jingle 10-25-2016 05:47 PM

That is a gorgeous quilt. Don't know the pattern name.

I couldn't find a name anywhere, but it is a beauty.
It seems to me it is made from 18" blocks (finished). The large star is 12" and the small ones are 6", and placed with a 6" black square, and 2 - 6" HSTs.

Beautiful quilt. I like stars and the colors are really pretty. Appreciation to all who have made pattern layout suggestions. That helps me who is not as quilt savvy.

redstilettos 10-26-2016 04:28 AM

Chris and Gay, thanks so much for the breakdown and information.....this is added to my "ever growing" list!

jjuhl 10-26-2016 04:35 AM

Wow, thank you Chris! Yes please post when you get a block done!

Daisy Dew 10-26-2016 05:36 AM

I just sent a msg to Judy Martin and hope for a reply everyone cross your fingers !!

MamaLinda 10-26-2016 09:11 AM

Absolutely gorgeous. Think the black contrast is the main element of attractiveness.

annette1952 10-26-2016 09:36 AM

Wow what a gorgeous quilt! Sorry I don't know the name. I hope you find it.

JulieM 10-26-2016 10:11 AM

Oh my goodness, what a simple yet gorgeous quilt. I want to make two. One for a king size bed, one for a wall hanging.

Put my name on the list with those who would like to have the pattern.

Love it

Julie

That is a Craftsy pattern by Debbie Caffrey called Quilter's Quandary. There is a kit you can purchase with the pattern.Debbie Caffrey has some very good classes on Craftsy as well. She drafts patterns and has efficient ways of cutting fabric and constructing blocks. You can learn a great deal from her.

Altairss 10-26-2016 12:31 PM

Here's a link to buy it

I would love to have an updated version. I have EQ 6 but would never attempt to try to make this block.

Thanks.

Maureen NJ 10-26-2016 04:57 PM

Maybe a Deb Tucker pattern?

Great to know. It is a great pattern and makes a beautiful quilt. I will definitely be checking it out.

jjuhl 10-27-2016 04:48 AM

Thank you so much everyone!!

Rosasta0 10-27-2016 05:50 AM

Thank you so much. Just went to Craftsy and purchased the kit to make this quilt. Love it!

maviskw 10-27-2016 06:34 AM

I would make all the star points with Boston Blocks. They are all the same, so would go fast. Then put them together with HST, squares and triangle side pieces.

DottyD 10-27-2016 07:44 AM

Really nice - thank you

BettyGee 10-27-2016 08:40 AM

Don't know the name, but sure would like to as it is gorgeous. btiny36 seems to have found the right place, now to figure out how to purchase a copy and from whom; oh boy I need another project like...

Ann912 10-27-2016 08:41 AM
