That's what a lady at my LQS told me. She longarms and loves to use muslin so the quilting can really shine. I'm going to try it on my next quilt.

I can't say that I ever have, but I don't know the reason why. I think I just started buying quilt fabric for the backing and kept on doing it.

Use muslin often. Love working with it Muslin gives a quilt body.

Yes, I do. If you use unbleached Muslin, but larger than quilt, hem all sides and wash for shrinkage.

Before you buy muslin make sure of the shrinkage amount.

I use it on almost all of the quilts we make for prayer quilts at my church. I love to use the Kona muslin...it has a great feel and I wait for the sale at JoAnn's and buy the entire bolt.

I recently quilted a quilt for a friend and she sent muslin for the backing. I loved it. It was one whole piece, no piecing , so it quilted beautifully and as someone else said, it looks like a wholecloth quilt on the back.

I use muslin on almost all of my quilts. I like that you can get it in mega widths, so no piecing. I do however buy high quality muslin. Has anyone dyed muslin to match the quilt front?
