I'm just curious. I manage two sections in the virtuals and there are several more. I was wondering if they are being visited.

If you haven't seen them you will find

IRRs
Irish Chains
Miniatures
Bargellos
Kaleidoscopes

and several more!

Here is the link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/virtual_section_list.jsp

If you need the directions to get there on your own just click on Home then scroll down towards the bottom. You will see
All user defined sections click on that and it will take you to the list of sections.

You can choose to subscribe and you will create a list on the home page of the sections you want to keep up with.

There is lots and lots of great information on there for the areas of interest that you want to check out!!

The thing I like about it is you don't have to slog through a lot of posts to get to the subject you are interested in. All of the miniatures are in one place or all of the bargello threads are in one place etc.

Hope you take time to have a look!!

craftybear 05-29-2010 10:15 AM

I really hadn't paid much attention to them until Billy mentioned it for the VS area. I have added some more since I followed the link you gave!

patricej 05-29-2010 11:18 AM

Dont' forget, also ... members can nominate categories for new Virtual Sections. They're for your interest and convenience, so we welcome your suggestions. :-)

Sounds like a good idea to me! Submit your idea to Admin or Patrice and see what they say. I would think it would be a great section. There are alot of crazy quilt threads on here.

Debra that is one of the reasons I did this thread. I wanted to remind people or let newbies know about it. I think it is a great source of inspiration.

luv-e 05-29-2010 11:33 AM

Thanks for the reminder. I forget to go there.

I'm with Minda. I know there's a lot I don't know about and am learning slowly from posts like this one.

Rhonda 05-29-2010 09:13 PM

You're all welcome. Hope you all find lots of good ideas in the virtual section!!

ScubaK 05-30-2010 12:04 AM

CarrieAnne 05-30-2010 04:40 AM

Gosh, I never knew theywere there! Thanks!

sewcrafty 05-30-2010 04:57 AM

I don't think I've ever looked at that area. I really wasn't sure what user defined meant. Maybe if its renamed to virtual sections or something comparable that would invite people in. User Defined for me was a little scary (sortof like Star Trek - go where no man has gone before)!  Sorry! :-D

so now you know what it is are you going to check it out?
All of my classes are in my Rhonda's Workshops and Classes section and all the miniatures threads are in the miniatures. There are alot of good ideas for example if you want to do the doll quilt swap.

Actually, I did venture in and look around!! Lots and lots of info there. Really a good thing!!! I think that after graduation and after my parents leave I'll have a lot more time to play and investigate. All I need is more ideas!!

I need to stop getting ideas and putting projects together in their prospective bins and start finishing up whats already UFO's or WIP. Trying to priortize projects right now. I have got one heck of a list of to-do's!!

That's why I'm up soooo early usually atleast 5am (even on weekends) so that I can play here, this is my only real me time right now. Then I get to jump back on periodically during the day for a fix!!

sandpat 05-31-2010 05:22 AM

I agree Rhonda, the VS is one of the great additions that Admin made last year. I'm not sure we could keep up with the IRR or the Jane quilt without it!!!

Dkm 05-31-2010 06:18 AM

Thanks, I'm still wondering around LOOKING. I appreciate everyone giving us keys to use.

Rainbow 05-31-2010 06:32 AM

So glad you all are finding this great resource! It is such a wonderful way to organize information!

Anyone else have any good ideas for a section just contact Admin or Patrice with your ideas. It isn't hard to manage a section!

bstanbro 05-31-2010 08:38 AM

I didn't know this existed! Now I am subscribed to some of them. Thanks.

ann clare 05-31-2010 09:50 AM

I'm with PSTONER. Glad you posted the virtual sections.

sewcrafty 05-31-2010 11:59 AM

See - A different name is needed. User defined doesn't lend to what it is. Should we try to figure out a different name that says come on in?

I suggested to Admin some time ago that it would work better with a differant name but he was not wanting to change it.
I asked about having a link at the bottom of the page but it isn't possible because of the way the virtual part works. I don't understand how the virtual part works. I'm sure Admin can explain if you'd like to know.
I also think it is hard to find. That is why I posted this so people could be reminded it is there.
