I'm making a quilt for my DDIL. All the fabrics are batiks except for one. Does it look out of place? It's the green/blue mottled one. Please be honest. I want this to be special-after all she's about to give birth to my DGS. She's a very special young lady and I want this quilt to be really nice.
I'm having problems trying to post a picture. I've not posted from the iPad before. Please bear with me. |
I've never figured out how to attach pics from my ipad
I'm sorry. I can't get this to post. Will try the other computer. My DH is not here to help so I'm going to get my netbook.

I think it looks just great. I'd use it.

Looks great to me. I'd use it. It really is a beautiful color choice. :-D
They all play nice together to my eye. Very nice.
Very nice!!! there are no batik police, so go ahead and use it, I like it!
I think it looks great!
I think it's pretty too!
it looks fine.
I think it looks great!
I really like it
Use it, it will be just fine.
I think it looks great also
it looks just great to me!
well -- I'll be the oddball --- it jumps out at me. I've developed a "rule of thumb" --- if I have to ask if it looks right, then I must not think it's right, so I change it. Otherwise, it will ALWAYS be the one piece your eye goes for!!!! Just MHO.

I THINK IT LOOKS GREAT
I think it looks really good. I often mix batiks with regular cottons!!
Looks good! I mix regular quilting fabrics with batiks all the time and I think it works out well
I liked it!
Looks like it plays nicely with the others, I would let it stay ;-)
Looks good - picks up the blue from the fabric with the pink.
If you hadn't of pointed it out, I would never have known!
It looks great, love your color choices.

It looks great.
I have a non batik in my quilt on the design wall. Blends well. The only way I can tell by the selvages - batiks don't have them and this piece does. It also has a predominant right and wrong side, but that doesn't matter. I also tell my matchy-matchy daughter that once it's sewed together almost anything will go together. I don't totally agree with that, but I'm trying to liberate her a bit before she purchases fabrics for her Snake River Log Cabin. |
Think it looks great!
Personally I think it looks great, she'll love it.
Leave it. It is not batik but looks like it. It is my favorite color in there.
Goes just fine! Going to be a very pretty quilt.
It gives a nice balance to the blocks, the small brown flecks in the fabric go nicely with the other browns in the quilt, as well.
It's a keeper! |
I like it! I used to think I didn't like batik...just like I didn't like crazy quilt blocks...I have had to eat a lot of "quilt crow"...as you can tell by my avatar, the quilt has...gasp...batik in it!!! :-)
I'm the oddball, too. In the pic of just the one block, I don't think it goes. It jumps out too much. But in the pic of the sample layout with other blocks that include it, it looks good. Big help, huh?
I think it works.
I like it!
I like it...it adds a POP to the color scheme.
It does "jump out" at me, too.
I know many people mix batiks with "ordinary" quilting fabrics in their tops - I prefer not to. |
looks beautiful to me! :D
I works well. I like the pattern and fabrics you are using.
