I love scraps too and just finished making 3 string quilts..my problem is, I have a lot more short pieces than I do long pieces, so making string quilts, I run out of the long ones and end up with way too many short ones..any idea how to use these short ones up too?

go to quiltville.com and look at Bonnie Hunter's free patterns - she uses a lot of short strings in her quilts.

You could just sew those short scraps together to make longer ones. I did that for one quilt, and it made it even more interesting. Haven't done it since. I decided it was more trouble than I wanted to go to....
