Mine would try if I asked him :-) I did have DH and DS put together scrappy blocks that I then sewed into a "camp" quilt for DS to take to sleepover camp when he was about 12. It made it a family project and something to snuggle under when he was feeling homesick.

interesting topic..... I giggle at mine cuz he "thinks" he doesn't help, but he does, bless his heart. He's a big help in helping me decide on colors or block placements.

Mine looks, comments and thinks they are beautiful. Wanted to keep the last one that I made for my daughter, said "We can leave it to her, lets use it now" LOL LOL I'll keep him, he plays on computer while I sew. It's in my sewing room. He has been a encourager on all my hobbies. Have had him 49 yrs this May. Guess I'll keep him. Don't won't to train another one.

mine is great, he goes shopping with me for fabric and helps with color co ordination. He oils my machine, and the latest was to build me a thread stand, that he was very creative and used an old fishing pole stand to create it, he helps remove pins, helps with the backings too. Overall he is just great guy. I could not ask for any better

Some of these replies just crack me up.
My DH has always done more than his fair share of housework and is an excellent cook; better than me. He gives me a day every week when he takes care of our 17 yr old, me & him and leaves me to quilt myself silly. He is a treasure. I am so blessed. |

One time my DH helped cut fabric when I was down to the wire on a Christmas gift for his grandparents. Otherwise, he just runs to the store for spools of thread and such when he happens to be in town and I need something.
Sometimes I do ask his opinion on color matching thread and such, but he's very reluctant to give it. |
Yes, he helps me by planning quilts and drawing on quilting lines. He is also a vintage sewing machine colector and maintains my machines.

Mine loads and turns my quilts on the longarm and with the pro stitcher. He is great but I would not trust him to cut my material or with my favorite pair of scissors (that I hide).
