That is a great big NO, however he loves the things that I do and is very proud of me.

Yes...he quilts and has been for the past 15 years. Does mostly hand pieceing and hand quilting ( won awards) but also does baby quilts by machine for the girls in the office who are pregnant...one per girl... He has a Janome Jem Gold and loves it.

My DH is on the road all week in a semi, but loves to fabric shop and go to quilt and craft shows with me. He is the one who points to the expensive fabric and tells me to buy that instead of the cheaper stuff and he picked out my Janome Memory Craft. He buys fabric for me as gifts because he knows that's what I really want. He has a lot of artistic talent and I believe he will design and try his hand at it when he retires in a couple of years. I think he will have a lot of fun with EQ6. He has even tried his hand at cross stitch. He's my keeper! We love to do things together, and that is why I learned to drive truck and spent seven years on the road with him. Now I am retired and get to spend my time quilting.

OH YES he does, he made 6 quilts for our daughters and his brother and sister for Christmas last year. He is one of 3 men I have in my quilt class. He loves it and so do I, this way I get to buy more fabric. LOL I love shareing my hobby with him. It only took him 73 years to find my hobby but I am glad he did. He has 20 some old machines that he can use. He buys old ones and repairs them and then uses them.

Mine doesn't sew either. He does woodworking and makes me shelves and ruler holders, etc. and he never gets upset when I buy sewing/quilting stuff. I can't complain. My two grandsons ( ages 6 & 4 ) and my granddaughter (age 2) like to sit on my lap and help me sew. I am going to teach them to sew when they get older.

My sweet hubby doesn't sew, but is very supportive. He has a more creative mind that I do so I ask his opinion on color choices and quilting designs. He's given me some pretty good advice so far. He also let's me spend as much time as I want with my quilting and has never stopped me from buying what I need (I'm the conservative one in the family so I'm not a real threat in the spending department.) :) He's a real find and I'm not sharing him.

My Bear say' he wants to make a quilt but,if his making a quilt is anything like getting him to do the laundry! I don't think it will ever happen, unless I chase him around with a square, needle and thread :D

When my sons were little they were fascinated by my sewing machine so I taught all 3 how to use it. They made quite a few things that I still have (of course!)
When my youngest was in high school he made all his own clothes- no joke. He was very alternative and made all kinds of wild stuff. Everyone at school loved his designs, well probably not everyone, but you know. Then he started getting requests for outfits. What fond memories I have of taking him to Joann Fabrics where the clerks just loved him. He no longer sews but just made off with some new pillows I made. He loves working with his hands still but mostly wood. They all love hand-made things. |
No, but he can sure work on cars! My youngest son does leather work and has an industrial machine for large projects.

Just because there are men Qters Don't ****** ** Boy did I get my ear full. My husband is real good working with his mind and hands, but NO QUILTING. He has no desire to mess around a machine unless its to fix it.
