I cut out fabric for yellow brick road and followed steps A and B and sewed all of the pieces together. I put the whole thing aside for about 3 or 4 weeks. Today i went back and read the next steps and I am suppose to have some of the first strips left. I thought I was making a lap quilt, howevery I had to cut more strips and now I THINK I am making a twin.??? I am all mixed up on this now and keep looking and reading and counting. Oh well I get it put together somehow, but it may be something other than anything we have ever seen.

you will definetly have to post pics! I'm sure it'll end up being one of your favorite quilts once it is finished!

I did that in a class 5 or so yrs ago and think I did the same thing. It taught me to READ the entire pattern first! at least twice! That quilt is still waiting to be quilted.

A design adjustment? Sometimes I have "happy accidents". ;)

I find it helpful to check off steps as I go along. On pattens with multi sizes listed, like that one, I circle the amounts for the size I'm working on too. You can use pencil and erase it when you are done. I also make notes for myself if I think I might use it again. :)

I've done the same thing! I need to "not be in a hurry".
