That's a good suggestion. Our guild has a community quilts program where they make quilts for other people in the community. I will take some of my excess there. It was either that or have my space remodeled and I can't afford that and I really do want to lighten the load. Thanks.

I think if space allows this is a great idea, might sort some as you go, tools, lg fabs, sm fabs, good grief this is U, just finished makes it feel better, Donating to a charitable may help! Once area is sparkly cleared. reshop, in your stash may find treasures!
But whatever you do make to right for you !!

I became overwhelmed with big projects a few years ago. I knew a group that would put baby quilts together so I gave them all my matched fabric - tops/bottoms/batting - and they made all the quilts for their organization. What a relief that was!

I rethought the use of the fabric I had left for big projects and switched to smaller projects - tote bags, pillow cases, clothing items for preemies, burp cloths, 1 yd. size quilts, table runners, gift bags, Christmas stockings, etc.

I still do something big every once in a while and I love making quilt tops but I pass them on to someone else to complete. There is always someone or some group that are thrilled to take tops and finish them off and donate them or use them for fund raising.

There are times when I too feel overwhelmed, especially with scraps, I usually try to find a new quilter and ask if they would like scraps for small projects. Have never had anyone unhappy after receiving a box of scraps.

One of our local guilds had a sale at the library. I didn't go but a friend went. They had books, finished projects, half finished projects, and fabric for sale. My friend bought several half finished projects. We oohh and aahhed when she brought them with her. Next year all of us are going to see what unfished project we can get.

I saved a bunch of quilt blocks (purchased) on EBAY. I enjoy the challenge of making them into something!These I finish w/ a label titled RECLAIMATION BAY QUILTS,name, my name, date. someone will buy what you no longer want & hopefully finish it lovingly. good luck!

Yes, Take one large project and work intermittently on it in between several small projects. That way you don't get bored and you feel like you've accomplished more.
