Dri Fit... ugh!
Has anyone had issues with quilting dri fit fabric? I have never had any issues and now my machine is skipping stitches. Timing and tension are correct – I had my machine serviced recently (it was doing this before it was serviced). I am using a ballpoint needle and can't elevate the problem. Any suggestions?

I don't know that brand/type of fabric.
I like a Microtex Sharp for batiks, maybe that would help you? I'm usually using a 14 to quilt down on a home machine. Other people like top stitch needles for some fabrics. |
The ballpoint needle might be the problem.

dri-fit is a stretch fabric, perhaps try a larger or a smaller needle?

Have you quilted "dri fit" before?? successfully?? Is your machine working fine if stitching regular cotton fabrics?? Are you able to quilt regular cottons with a batting with no problems?? Perhaps give us more background info, and there will be more answers/suggestions that may help you. Welcome to the Quilting Board! |
Welcome from western NY and happy quilting :)

Try a 16 topstitch needle.

If it's a stretch fabric, you will need a ballpoint needle or needle for stretch fabrics.

I believe Dry-Fit is the material used for running and workout shirts. I am interested in the responses too, as a friend wants me to make her granddaughter a tee shirt quilt using her cross country shirts and it will all depend on whether I can get the right interfacing and not melt the fabric, and be able to quilt it. They don't have the money to pay me but the DGD is amazing, so I will do it if I can figure it out.
