    Default Dri Fit... ugh!

Has anyone had issues with quilting dri fit fabric? I have never had any issues and now my machine is skipping stitches. Timing and tension are correct – I had my machine serviced recently (it was doing this before it was serviced). I am using a ballpoint needle and can't elevate the problem. Any suggestions?

    I don't know that brand/type of fabric.

I like a Microtex Sharp for batiks, maybe that would help you? I'm usually using a 14 to quilt down on a home machine.

Other people like top stitch needles for some fabrics.

The ballpoint needle might be the problem.

dri-fit is a stretch fabric, perhaps try a larger or a smaller needle?

Not quite sure what generalities you are stating in your statements and questions.

Have you quilted "dri fit" before?? successfully??
Is your machine working fine if stitching regular cotton fabrics??
Are you able to quilt regular cottons with a batting with no problems??

Perhaps give us more background info, and there will be more answers/suggestions that may help you.

    Try a 16 topstitch needle.

If it's a stretch fabric, you will need a ballpoint needle or needle for stretch fabrics.

I believe Dry-Fit is the material used for running and workout shirts. I am interested in the responses too, as a friend wants me to make her granddaughter a tee shirt quilt using her cross country shirts and it will all depend on whether I can get the right interfacing and not melt the fabric, and be able to quilt it. They don't have the money to pay me but the DGD is amazing, so I will do it if I can figure it out.
