Dawn, Be sure to place the ruler square on that fold. Find a line and make sure it is straight across that fold line. If the ruler is crooked on that fold line, or off the fold line, it causes that "V" fold in the strip. Hope that helps.

You won't regret the Accuquilt system if you get one. You won't have those little curves in your strips any more and it is so quick an accurate. Of course I have no affiliation with Accuquilt just a reborn user and in love with the system.

I used a June Tailor slotted ruler for cutting circles. Using a layer cake, I was able to cut a quarter circle and the convex piece from one square, then mix them up.

Then there's the Quick Curve Rulers by Sew Kind of Wonderful. I like the technique because you sew without pinning, press, THEN trim to the correct size and seam allowance. They turn out pretty perfect. And there are a lot of different Drunkard's Path variations in their patterns.

In looking at Missouri Star Quilts template/rulers - they have a small set and a large set. Apparently both fit on a 10 inch square. It looks like the small set maybe lets you have different size blocks, and the concave part (the rounded part - I think I have that right) is smaller).

I was wondering which set you have - and if you know what the difference is between the 2 options? I am not sure why I would buy one of the other.

The small DP template from MS has a smaller curve compared to the larger curve in the large template set. I have them both. I use the small and large in one quilt for interesting designs.

Interesting, combining them both in one quilt. I wouldn't have thought of doing that, but will have to remember!

onebyone would you show a picture of a quilt you’ve made using these?
