Good grief, I thought my own uhh, well, Senior Moments were my own and no one else's.

Join the parade, dear, we're all around you. Or, at least we are some of the few admitting it.

And isn't sewing interesting!!!!

Ramona Byrd 11-07-2010 06:05 PM

To prevent myself from doing this sort of thing I get a sticky note pad and as I cut each size I label it.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like a marvelous idea. Except that I would remember I wanted a cup of coffee or go to the john and lay it down somewhere and the cats would go lie flat out on it and I would not be able to find it till after I'd gone shopping again and was coming in the door and the cats would rise from their beds of already cut fabrics and demand a treat which would let me see that I had already cut the fabric but they were now covered with lovely, long white hair from my white Persian and needed cleaning and washing again and they would twist when ironed again and be off bias or whatever so I would get mad and forget what quilt I was trying to make in the first place and go out and buy one from China for forty dollars that would shred in the second washing so that's what happens when I don't attend to my sewing and forbid the cats to even visit with me on days when I am sewing except that when I do that the Persian gets all P@#%^ at me and goes and wets on the throw rug while staring right at me when she is mad.

Ahhh, I absolutely LOVE quilting, and this chat room!!

amandasgramma 11-07-2010 07:52 PM

I love it, too!

Bubblegum0077 11-07-2010 07:58 PM

Try forgetting what you were about to do. That happens to me all the time. I am on overload - I've been told. In fact, I've recently read directions for a quilt over and over and it made no sense to me whatsoever. In fact, I had to put it down, change what I was doing then go back to see if it made any sense then. Nope.....is there any hope?

Horsehockey! That was supposed to be a pie chart with time spent looking for stuff you just had a few minutes ago.

I think you subconsciously knew that Joann's was having a good sale today ROFLMBO

littlehud 11-07-2010 08:47 PM

I'm so glad to read this. I'm not alone.

Wine Woman 11-08-2010 04:33 AM

It's all good! Just think what you did accomplish! You cleared your mind, got a bit of fresh air, had a beautiful drive (some quiet time for yourself), you were able to add to your stash and back home to pick up where you left off! I think you did great!

thequilteddove 11-08-2010 04:37 AM

Maybe you get like me.... everything is organized, except my thoughts lol

joan_quilts 11-08-2010 06:06 AM

Oh yes, the dreaded stupid mistake just to find out you didn't goof up! LOL Hey, a trip to JoAnn's is always a good thing though!

katybob 11-08-2010 06:08 AM

Years ago I saw an embroidered pillow in a gift shop that said "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!"

Justquilting 11-08-2010 06:16 AM

Too funny!!
I've done this!

sewmom 11-08-2010 06:54 AM

sounds like something I have done or will do. Lately it seema like it's worse. My Grandma used to say-It seems the the faster I go, the behinder I get. Sometimes I just need to slow down and get my thoughts togeythetr. (Hint-it doesn't always help!)

champagnebubbles 11-08-2010 08:38 AM

Now THAT's funny!!!!

quiltaroni 11-08-2010 09:35 AM

Was it a good sale?

sunrise450 11-08-2010 10:36 AM

I's so glad that I am not the only one! I have started cutting out and labeling the pieces that I have cut out and put them on a tray. Then of course if I have to leave the room for awhile, I come back and can't remember where I put the pattern. So now I cut out the quilt and put that and the pattern on a tray.
Seems to be working but you never know, The grimlins might decide to pay a visit!

bgullett 11-08-2010 10:43 AM

I think all of our minds are running rampet together!

kclausing 11-08-2010 10:49 AM

LOL. Been there!

Kas 11-08-2010 01:35 PM

I've done that, too. But I was out of the fabric and they don't sell it anymore. So I was trying to figure out what I was going to do when I realized I hadn't goofed after all. VERY happy I hadn't or the UFO from He** was going to stay an UFO. Usually I put the shapes I have cut in labeled ziplocks, but I hadn't this time.

SewExtremeSeams 11-08-2010 02:59 PM

LOL LOL ... now, WHY can I relate to your story. Not fair.. the world is in trouble if there are more than one of me out there. LOL LOL

Oh dear. What can we say about ourselves.

Thanks so much for the laugh!
