I am choosing colour/fabric for a duvet cover for my Mom. I can’t decide to do white or green on the outer HSQ's. The white looks crisp and clean and makes the blocks stand out. The green looks cozy and lush and pulls it together with the centre square.

Which do you prefer?

kacie 11-18-2008 07:41 AM

I love the green.

Moonpi 11-18-2008 08:31 AM

I'm with jstitch - get a deeper value in there to make the yellows POP

i vote for green :D if its a duvet (couch?) cover. i'd be afraid white would get dirty real fast. in my house anyways. :(

vicki reno 11-18-2008 09:37 AM

Green--definitely!

White... the red, green and yellow looks too Xmas-y for me!

LoriJ 11-18-2008 02:02 PM

I'd have to say green also.

What about green and red for the blocks (cube things) and the yellow for the background?

3incollege 11-18-2008 06:12 PM

green

justquiltin' 11-18-2008 07:38 PM

I'm with the other three (or was it four?) that said a darker shade of green. Either one will be beautiful, though. Just let us know what you decide....

sewnsewer2 11-18-2008 08:06 PM

I vote for the green too.

Janstar 11-18-2008 08:09 PM

Green! I noticed the white makes the blocks look like they are floating.

PrettyKitty 11-19-2008 01:10 AM

Hmmm, I think the green gets the vote, don't you? Teehee! Interesting what a few of you said about a darker shade, I will have a hunt for a darker fabric and see what it looks like.

Thanks all!!

Jstitch, moopi, bearisgray, zyxquilts and justquiltin’ you were right, a darker green on the HSQ’s really makes a difference:

minstrel 11-19-2008 03:45 AM

Well, I missed the voting, but I LOVE it with the darker green!

ME TOO!-----use the dark green for borders, the white looks so crisp and fresh (and your mom probably is neat and won't get it dirty, unless she has big black dogs like me that shed all over the place....

Regardless of what you choose, it is going to be beautiful and your mom will be thrilled!

purplemem 11-24-2008 08:10 AM

I vote for the darker green. It does make the yellows pop and it doesn't look Christmasy like the lighter green.

quiltedmermaid 11-24-2008 01:44 PM

GREEN.....red in corners
