I also would like to know the continuing story here....this looks so interesting....and considering the huge quanity of strips I cut for my string quilts, WOW......
am going to look the next time I am at Walmart....

I haven't tried it. But it only cuts up to 12 inches or so in length if you look at it. (It looks like the old ones did 24) If you wanted to cut 2 1/2 strips WOF you would need to fold it correctly to avoid the little hills and valleys at the fold mark and be very careful to check that you didn't lose anything when you moved fabric.. I have an old June Taylor "Short Cut" ruler that will only cut 12 inches wide, but you can cut as many strips as you can get in 12 inches without moving fabric or ruler. But I don't have any hand issues with cutting.

MY BD is this month, too & I plan to buy some yummy fabric. But I also think I'm going to get myself one of those June Tailor (I think it is) mats that you use to cut strips. What I have now is a 2.5" ruler & while I like it, I'm always looking for faster & easier. I'm sorry to hear this didn't work so hot. And happy BD, fellow August baby!

Disappointed that it didn't work out for you. You are such a special lady and deserved more then a faulty product. Had no idea you had an upcoming birthday. A 21 year old grandmother...for goodness sakes. (Giggling) Hope you get something as special for your birthday as you are!

I had one, but wasn't impressed so I took it back. I like the June Tailor slotted rulers better.

I'm in the process of making pre-cut strips into a French braid and it is a big time reminder why I don't "DO" standard patterns.... they bore me. I don't have the guts or the attention span or what ever to make 90 or however many of the same thing! I wouldn't get that machine for anything. Of course, that's just me.
