Apart from the 1/4-inch foot, and the walking foot, I mostly use the open toe applique foot, the couching foot, and the multi-cord foot, but this is because I like to do lots of embellishment on my crazy patches.

The 3 FMQ-feet that came with the machine I will probably use for small projects like mug-rugs, or fabric postcards.

The bigger projects I do on the New Joy quilt frame I got for my birthday in June.

I think I might have to start sewing garments again ... otherwise the other feet might feel left out ..... don't want no squabbling between siblings, you know...??? hehehehehe

Wonderful, Merry Christmas! I hadn't heard of an Elna in years, I didn't think they still made them, isn't that weird? I know in the past they were excellent machines and should be now as well. You are a very lucky person!

My DH bought me a new sewing machine for Christmas .... an Elna 740 eXcellence!!!!!

This machine is so BIG and beautiful ... the throat-space is a whole 11 INCHES!!!!

And it comes with 17 different feet ... and every one of them has its own little niche!
No extra baggies or boxies to store all the accesories ..... everything has a place specially designed to fit in.
I have sewn a few stitches ... trying out a few of the feet .... and I can tell you now .... I will love and bless my darling DH every day I work on it!!!

It is SO silent, so smooth, so soft, and oh so easy to work with ..... there is a whole rugby-field on the right hand-side compared to my Bernina!
And also ....... no fiddling with the bobbin .... it has a seperate bobbin-winder motor, so you just fill it up and pop it in!!!!!
It has all the bells and whistles I wanted ... and more!!

It is a far cry from my old Elna, bought in 1964. But even though I am green, I must say that my Elna has never been in a shop, never had a single problem with her and will never part with her. Right now she is on loan to my youngest daughter whose "cheapie" machine gave out on her as she was trying to put together her very first quilt top. I sure do envy you all that throat area though. What a wonderful time you are going to have, playing around and finding new and exciting things to do with that machine.

Lucky you! This is one of the nicest and most practical machines I have ever seen with the way the feet are stored. Wishing a new year full of wonderful hours with your new computerized friend.
