There's no waste, you use the whole piece of fabric, and a small(1/4 or 1/3 yard) will make a LOT of binding. It's wonderful for plaids or stripes. This is how I do all of my bindings.

I use the tube method. If I'm using a plaid or stripe, I always use bias. It is adds another dimension or design element. It doesn't matter then if it is printed straight or not. I used to curve all corners but once I understood exactly how to do the corners they are just as easy.
Love, love, love the look of bias binding when made with stripes, plaids and checks. Plus everyone says it wears better. |
