are willing to share?

I saw a clamshell quilt pattern a teacher had made and it didn't look easy to me.lol No I don't have one. But I'm a fairly new quilter.

Found this one. It doesn't have the typical clam shell template. The clam shell is actually made with 4 pieces. . .. Interesting technique.

If you like English paper piecing, clamshells are easy using this technique.

Huh. That's a Drunkard's Path variation - I don't know that I ever would have thought of that! :)

Like Peckish, I would never have thought of doing it that way, either. It's very interesting. I think it would be difficult to keep the fabric colors in the right blocks/places.

Interesting. Would never have thought to use drunkards path to make the clam shell!

Did you mean the quilt pattern as all the wonderful links? I had thought you were meaning how to mark a clam shell pattern to quilt on a top, ;)

Stamps by Kate has a
Nice 3" clamshell stamp that has two lines. The solid line cuts out the clamshell patch and the dotted line is for stitching. I am currently using this method with beautiful results

What is easy about the clam shell is you only have to sew the convex edge since the tails lay under each shell and every added shell holds the previous one in place. A very cool pattern.

peace
