didn't know I could post a picture. Hope this works, am not a computer wiz.
Forgot in my instructions to say there are also corner stones in the sashing - should read solid and be darker than the sashing, which should be medium to light. The sashing in the picture looks white, but was actually a light blue batik.

The picture is a quilt made by a friend from Northern Vermont

Can you suggest an easy pattern for a quick quilt

Here are 2 very easy ones. Basically the same plan and both are machine quilted. My husband's was done before I realized I could do detailed hand quilting like I did on the butterfly quilt but you could machine quilt the entire quilt on the machine. This is the basic pattern my quilt chapter uses to make our charity quilts. Our charity quilts are made using 12 inch blocks - 3 across and 5 down. These 2 quilts are 15 inch blocks but 3 across and 5 down. My husband is tall and I needed his to be longer. Kim is short but I wanted to make sure she could wrap up in it. If you do the 12 inch blocks, you could run a couple up very quickly.

For the striped blocks, I've used scrap strips and they worked out well even though they weren't the same width. You can do those however you wish and use more or fewer of them. This charity quilt was made using fabric given to me by a friend. It's fabrics that don't work into my quilting and she wanted me to use it so badly that I decided to use it for my charity quilts. There is enough left to do another one and she'll be thrilled when I print up a photo of each to give to her as she'll know they went to benefit someone and she is no longer quilting.
Good luck
Patty

These are all beautiful! I have an idea for a baby boy quilt, but wouldn't it be nice if we all made a block like this for BIL's quilt? I have lots of scraps and would be happy to donate! Thanks for the link!

I'm sorry to hear about your brother! My dad has to have exams to make sure he doesn't have cancer in his prostrate every couple of months. You and your family are in my prayers! I would love to donate a couple of blocks for a quilt if you like. Just let me know the colors, pattern and whatever else you need and your address and it would be my pleasure to help you out! God Bless you!

Do you need some help with making those bocks? I have tons of stash here just looking for something to do and wouldn't mind helping you out if you need it. I have also been diagnoised with cancer but I'm not letting them do anything for it as I believe the treatments are worst then their cure.

Anyway, if you need help just let me know at my normal email: [email protected]
