Click on this site to watch a Fons/Porter video on an easy way to put on sashing/borders. Just happened to watch it yesterday just before I was going to put sashing strips on grandaughter's duvet cover. Just copy and paste in google. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lB5Vo0XY30

that's a good tip-thanks. I'm almost surprised they have it on youtube since they have a video site that requires a paid membership. I'm glad they do though.

Great tip considering I am putting sashing on a quilt at this time.

this is good, but I like the method in our tutorial section better. No measuring!

I'd rather put sashing and cornerstones on individual blocks.

Most blocks will need sashing (and cornerstones, if you use them) on two contiguous sides, the blocks on one outside row and one outside column will require sashing on three sides and one corner block will require sashing on all four sides.

This is so much easier for me to handle than long strips.

same here, and I like the pieced look.

Me too but sometimes the quilt I'm doing (like the one I have going right now) doesn't have cornerstones.
