I just received many yards from four different sellers. Two pieces I was not happy with. One, from the photo, looked just like the fabric I was searching for. I was so excited I bought three yards. But the colors were much more harsh than the piece I have, plus the quality was low low low. Bummer. The other, from a different seller, a hand dyed, looked to be brown and blue in the photo, but it's really brown and purple. Yuck.

The other trouble I had, completely MY fault, was one fabric looked great for what I wanted it for, but somehow I bought it twice--from two different sellers. It was called something different at each place. It's not a piece I want that much of.

I always use "Buy it Now."

So, I'll stick to the quilt shops and my favorite on-line store for awhile.

Unless they sell with "Buy It Now", I'd rather shop on Etsy for good quilting fabrics. All that bidding and waiting drives me nuts, and then someone always outbids you in the end. I've never done well with auctions.

I got DENIM when I thought I was getting quilting cotton--and got squares that were NOT square and different sizes, so beware!
and bought 100% cotton poundage that was blend--made charity quilts out of the goofs, but frustrating.

I have purchased off Ebay many times and always had good luck.

DONK 03-12-2011 06:01 PM

I have bought from ebay before and never had a problem.

just as anything on ebay you have to check out the seller, I never buy from anyone with low feedback, I'm saving the names of the sellers mentioned here.

I just bought a log cabin batik kit and they are gorgeous! I have always had good luck with ebay...just pay with pay pal and they protect you! I have also sold a few things on there and also do well.

Where on Ebay do you look for the Moda fabric?

Maureen 03-13-2011 05:51 AM

categories,Crafts, fabrics. I then type Moda or Northcot into the search and all the pages come up. Moda has 300 paes!

daisey 03-13-2011 07:29 AM

you really just need to type moda fabric in the search box and that is usually good enough. For Ebay that is

I have purchased a great deal of fabric on Ebay. The key is the rating. There are many fine sellers. It's so much fun to just shop. One seller used to sell 3 yds. for $9.99. That has since gone to $12.99 and up, but doesn't everything. Her fabric is very nice.

I have bought a lot of fabric off ebay and craigs list. As you see if you know some of the brands you can get some realy good buys. As a matter of fact I am waiting sor some right now..
